About The Crown and Cushion

Windsor Castle and the River Thames are both within walking distance of The Crown and Cushion, making this a practical base for exploring the town without needing a car. The High Street location puts shops, restaurants and the castle approach right on the doorstep, while the riverside paths offer a quieter stroll when the crowds thin out.

The hotel itself occupies a historic building with just eight rooms, kept clean and bright with a comfortable, traditional feel. There's a restaurant and bar on site serving pub food alongside a solid range of beers, plus breakfast to start the day. A garden gives guests somewhere to sit outside, and the property also works as a wedding venue for those wanting a central Windsor setting.

Free WiFi and free on-site parking are both included, which is a genuine advantage in a town where parking can be difficult. Staff are noted for being friendly and welcoming, and pets are allowed, so it suits guests travelling with dogs. Reception operates 24 hours, giving flexibility for arrivals at any time.

Great location, really old and traditional.\n Rooms, very clean and quirky. Big, let down was the breakfast. It was appalling, the worst breakfast 2 cheap sausages, deep fryed Annihilated. Pile of mushrooms tinned, slice so so thin revolting.

24/04/26 Wonderful place and great friendly staff.. Went for a few drinks on our walk to a restaurant in Windsor and would’ve happily have stayed here.. Even got advice from one of the barman that lives in Oxford as I’m visiting on Sunday. Great place, friendly clientele and I’ll be visiting again soon 🍺 cheers

This was a lovely little getaway. The building is over 600 years old and quaint but nonetheless still comfortable, clean and warm. The team here are all friendly and welcoming. The breakfats is top notch and the fried eggs cooked to perfection. This was a really nice little getaway and it was also lovely to sit in the pub in the evening playing some backgammon. The staff know all the regulars and you feel the lovely atmosphere. Great little getaway, cool historic building, lovely team, delicious breakfast. It's also so close to everything. We left the car in the car park and walked everywhere with ease.
