About Hill Farm
Like the sound of days spent on jaunts that span two countries? If the answer is a definite yes, book a spot at Hill Farm, 15 minutes' drive from Wrexham in North Wales and five minutes from the border with England. From there, it's a doddle to reach Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (20 minutes), or whip into Shropshire for a day exploring historic Shrewsbury (35 minutes).
Set on a hill with fabulous woodland and valley views, this peaceful tourer site offers a handful of grass pitches in a small, secluded paddock and a glorious cottage garden to relax in. Kids will love feeding the free-ranging hens—just ask the farmer for some grain. The on-site farm shop, open daily 9am to 7pm, brims with tasty local produce, handy if you run out of supplies at breakfast or supper time.
Guests also have access to nearly 30 acres of private land with mowed paths, making post-lunch strolls easy. Choose from standard non-electric pitches or an adults-only option with private bathroom amenities. Note that facilities are fairly basic, but the trade-off is tranquillity and those sweeping countryside views.

What visitors say
We stopped by the self serve farm shop. Just drove past by chance and came back on ourselves. WORTH IT!! It was well stocked with eggs, bread rolls, ice cream..meats. If it was lacking anything it would be a cold drinks fridge especially in hot summer. Tea and Coffee machine. Could even pay by card. Gorgeous little garden to sit and chill in and take in the view. So cute and well thought out.

Hill Farm is a wonderful place. The Old Pantry is a cosy, comfortable, characterful place to stay. Dan and Paul are friendly, helpful, and caring hosts. The farm shop is always stocked with lots of local produce, including their own eggs, jams, chutneys, and delicious cakes. It's always a pleasure to feed the geese, swing in the garden, and take a walk in the meadow. Highly recommend!

Today I stopped by this charming little farm shop, and it was a lovely experience from start to finish. The fresh farm eggs are clearly the highlight, the chickens were right there, roaming freely and looking well cared for. They are also selling jams chutney fresh vegetables duck eggs &icecreams etc The garden area is absolutely beautiful – full of flowers, greenery, and a few cozy spots to sit and take in the peaceful surroundings. It feels more like visiting a friend’s country home than a typical shop. To top it all off, I was greeted by two friendly farm cats, who followed me around and made the whole experience even more delightful. They were clearly right at home and added a warm, personal touch to the visit. If you’re looking for fresh eggs and a quiet countryside moment, this place is well worth a visit. A lovely, down-to-earth spot that makes you slow down and smile.

We were looking for somewhere relaxing, not too far from home where we could just enjoy downtime and have a cheeky break, so we spent a weekend camping with some friends at Hill Farm. All 4 of us found the hosts, Paul and Daniel, very welcoming and helpful. We had some interesting and informative chats with them both. The site was nicely laid out and we loved watching the antics of the chickens, ducks and geese. Our evening stroll took us past their own veg garden and into meadows which offered different walks and even a pond where our friends watched dragonflies flitting about when out on a morning run. The self service farm shop had home produced apple juice, jams, chutneys, eggs, and a coffee machine on shelving with an ice-cream freezer and a range of locally produced meats also stored in another freezer. There is a lovely garden area to sit in, with seating in the open or in the shade/cover of a gazebo, and a tree swing. We had a fantastic weekend and the weather was gorgeous sunshine. We will definitely be returning soon and would highly recommend.
