York's medieval heart is on your doorstep at George Street Two. The city walls are a short walk away, and from here you can reach the Minster, the Shambles, independent shops and cafés without getting in the car. The property itself occupies the ground floor of a Grade II listed building, with a private garden courtyard at the back.
The apartment sleeps up to six across two bedrooms—a kingsize with en suite shower and a double—plus a sofa bed in the living room. A separate kitchen has everything for cooking: oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave and a dining table for six. The living space includes a smart TV, Bluetooth speaker and board games. Two full bathrooms serve the bedrooms. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are provided. The property is non-smoking.
This works well for groups exploring the city on foot, or families wanting central access to York without the noise of a hotel. There is a nearby public car park if you need to drive.

Paid over £500 to treat parents and ourselves for two nights (note going to Padstow in may for 7 nights and it's only costing us £800 for a detached house with garden so you can imagine what I was expecting) Great location only a short walk into town and on street parking pass provided. However the property needs a complete refresh decor wise from top to bottom and a thorough deep clean. This isn't a dig at the cleaners as I know they have to turn these around quick. It sleeps 6 but there is only seating for 4 in the lounge. Large TV that wouldn't tune in and was only visible on one sofa. There is a proper log burner but their is a sticker on it saying it was for show (stickers all over the place - reminded me of staying in a hostel). This was a shame but in keeping with the general downtrodden feel of the place. Kitchen area had a strange smell and the grill wasn't clean. The taps were the wrong way round, hot & cold opposite way. The downstairs toilet had the smell of your local on a Friday night. The front dinning room also only has seating for four and despite having a nice table no place mats The main bathroom was ok but the shower was very small and the door didn't shut properly. Oh and hope you can whistle as the lock on the door didn't work ! Bedrooms were all of a decent size but be warned the stairs to the upper floor bedroom are very steep. Overall if Welcomelets were to spend a modest amount on the decor and give it a real good deep clean then this could be a truly stunning property due to its location. But we know they probably won't as any time it's not being rented then the bucks aren't coming in. Booked via Airbnb by my partner. Disappointed.

Overall good stay with close proximity to the town centre. The property could do with some tlc but other than that, we would use again.

Very dirty and rundown. Plenty of cobwebs, ripped sofas, dead flies on window ledges, garden area very overgrown and outside ashtray for cigarettes overflowing

okay for 1 night i guess, shower is not a power shower so i could not wash my hair. the water pressure was just to weak. Parking is abit of a nightmare if there is no space left. You can park in the paid car park opposite
