York draws visitors year-round for its festivals, markets and medieval streets. Spencer House sits in the city centre west, close enough to walk to restaurants and pubs within a mile. The whole property is yours alone, spread across three floors with a courtyard garden at the back—useful for a drink on warmer days or simply stepping outside without leaving home.
Ground floor holds the living room with a smart TV (Netflix and Disney+ are on it) and a kitchen/dining area equipped to cook properly: electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave and everything else you'd need. The dining table seats six. Upstairs, the first floor has the main bedroom with a super-kingsize bed (convertible to twins if you ask), plus a bathroom with bath, walk-in shower and heated towel rail, with a separate toilet. The second floor has two further double bedrooms. Bed linen, towels, wifi and heating are included; electricity is covered too. One well-behaved pet is welcome.
The property is no-smoking. Check-in is after 15:00 and checkout before 10:00. There's a bike store if you want to explore by pedal, and an electric vehicle charging point on site. A public car park nearby is available at cost.

Lovely house in a great, central location. The house was well maintained and loved that we were able to bring our dog with us. Arrival and during our stay the communication from the hosts was excellent. Would definitely recommend and will revisit when we're next back in York!

This beautiful period townhouse was just a stones throw away from the city centre and was beautifully situated On a road what catered for your every need without even walking into the city Fantastic restaurants and cafes and bars and shops We will definitely be booking up to staying here again . Unfortunately we never got to meet Claire but Alister was on hand for anything we needed , we had a little hiccup with the heating system and Alister was round within 2 mins to solve the issue and even let us book out an hour later so we could have our usual morning hot shower . Beautiful and clean and a good selection to watch on TV if one evening you just wanted to stay in and chill . I would highly recommend‘this place , it’s got cheap parking also .

Just returned from a fantastic couple of days in York . First time staying in Spencer House but won’t be the last. The accommodation has everything you need and is a home from home. Location is 10 minutes walk from rail station and city centre. However just around the corner are some fabulous local shops and restaurants (Robinson’s cafe was outstanding) All rooms at Spencer House are thoughtfully decorated and the Xmas tree in the lounge was a lovely touch. Met our host, Alistair, briefly at the front door and he had already provided info and recommendations for things to do and places to eat/drink in York. 3 generously sized bedrooms tastefully decorated with plenty of storage (and clothes hangars) There are 2 properties adjacent to Spencer House which could accommodate larger groups when booked together.

Great place to stay when visiting York! Had everything we needed. Very clean and beds so comfortable. It’s close to centre with Just a short walk. We have Already told our friends to stay there when visiting and we are planning our next trip too so we definitely be booking again. Thanks to Alastair for being to helpful. Also great Ebook. Even though we visit york often we found some really great places to eat that we didn’t know about. Great touch!
