About Roomzzz York City
Roomzzz York City suits travellers who want a bit more room to spread out than a standard hotel offers, whether that's a longer city break, a working stay, or a couple after some peace away from the crowds. Set on Terry Avenue by the river, it's an adults-only apart-hotel with a short walk into the centre, making it a practical base for exploring without staying in the thick of the action.
Rooms are spacious and well-equipped, each with a kitchenette for guests who'd rather make their own coffee or a light meal than eat out every night. Complimentary coffee and croissants are provided, and the rooms themselves are kept clean and comfortable, with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and free WiFi throughout. A lift serves all floors, and there's a gym on-site for anyone keen to keep up a routine while away. Luggage storage and a laundry service add to the sense that this is a place built for staying a while, not just passing through.
Staff are noted for being friendly and helpful, and the location itself is considered good value for what's on offer. Parking is available, and the riverside setting means a calm walk into York's centre, with pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby for evenings out. It's a straightforward, well-run base for seeing the city at your own pace.

What guests say
We had a great two-night stay at Roomzzz Hotel in York last weekend using an Itison voucher. We were initially a little concerned about parking, as it mentioned spaces were limited. However, we arrived early and found plenty available—even on a bank holiday Saturday. There are around 50 spaces in total, so it felt more than sufficient. We arrived before check-in time but were able to pre-check in and make use of the handy lockers to store our luggage. The reception area was a lovely surprise, with complimentary coffee available 24 hours a day, a small shop, and plenty of seating both inside and outside. Our room was very spacious and clean, with a modern bathroom and excellent water pressure in the shower. The bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well. The windows looked out onto the river, so we woke up to the peaceful sound of ducks. It feels like you’re away from the city centre when you step outside into the surrounding greenery and nearby park, yet it’s only a 5–10 minute walk into the centre. We also discovered a lovely little high street just five minutes’ walk in the opposite direction—Bishopthorpe Road. We’d highly recommend Robinsons Café for breakfast, and The Pig & Pastry is also supposed to be excellent. This will definitely be top of our list for future stays in York—great location, convenient, and very good value for money.

Absolutely phenomenal. After a less than stellar start to my visit to York, called up Roomzzz York to see if they had any rooms with air con. Andrea was extremely helpful and by the time I was checking in 30 minutes later, he had already got the air con switched on to the room to get it cooling for me. The reception staff have been incredibly friendly and helpful the entire time I've been here. Excellent to have laundry facilities on site for free- solved a problem for me! Free croissants in the morning, and free coffee from the machine all throughout the day. The room is well laid out, has everything, and the bed is comfy. The only one downside is that there window covering (not the curtain but the upper windows) is not dark so I've been walking up at 5am as soon as light shines in. But that's a small price to pay for being in comfort. Close to the centre of town, and a row of shops about 300m away, including Millie's a lovely greengrocers and a Sainsbury's too for some small stuff. Thank you for ensuring that my stay in York was saved!

Lovely stay. I really appreciated the amenities, especially the very nice in-room moisturiser and the coffee and tea facilities available throughout the day. The hotel also has a pleasant small gym, with dumbbells, a bench, and a few cardio machines for running, stepping, and cycling. It would be even better with some heavier dumbbells and perhaps one additional strength-training machine, but it was still very useful. The rooms are modern, well kept, and have all the facilities needed for a stay of a few days or even a few weeks. The air conditioning was very welcome during the warmer days. The front desk team were always helpful and friendly, and it was genuinely nice to stay somewhere where the team seemed happy. The rooms are bright and nicely lit, with good windows. My only small note is that it was sometimes a little difficult to make sure the curtains blocked out all the morning light. The location is superb, close to the centre, but still in a quiet, green area by the river. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

This Hotel is truly a wonderful stay, the highlight of our stay was their incredible staff. Such lovely kind and accommodating people from reception down to maintenance, genuinely a crew of people wanting to help. We got upgraded for free to the loft suite and even so, when the upstairs air conditioning was not working in this heatwave, we were promptly moved and accommodated for! This hotel is not only gorgeous and modern but they really have an eye for customer service and create a really positive environment. Definitely worth coming back to.
