Hoxne Cottages - Sunflower Cottage
York

Strensall sits on the River Foss between York and the Howardian Hills, a working village with three pubs, shops, a post office and takeaway, plus regular buses into the walled city seven miles south. The Golf Club and Strensall Common, a Yorkshire Wildlife Trust conservation area, are on the doorstep. Sunflower Cottage is a single-storey property built to a high specification, backing onto an enclosed garden where a five-person hot tub sits on the decking.
Inside, everything is on one floor: an open-plan living space with woodburner, a separate dining area, and a kitchen with electric cooking and dishwasher. One bedroom has a kingsize bed, the other two singles; there is one bathroom with bath and separate shower. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included, along with initial logs for the burner. You get parking for three cars and a bike store. The cottage is no-smoking.
York itself draws visitors for the Minster, Jorvik Viking Centre, Railway Museum, galleries and river trips. The Howardian Hills and surrounding countryside offer stately homes and walking. Families with young children can request a travel cot and highchair.
