Burn Hall Hotel

Just returned home today 7th July after a weekend in York. The hotel is in a fabulous setting. The rooms were clean,bed was comfortable and the shower pressure, unbelievable. What more do you need? The food in the restaurant was brilliant, they say a hotel runs on how good the staff are, here's a mention for them too,Tom, Gayle ( and a private joke) , the yts lad Callum, they made our stay totally memorable. The only thing to do ,in my opinion, is experience burn hall yourselves, you won't be disappointed, and yes, we do plan on returning, our party of 4 all loved it. This was our first visit,the other half of the party are on their 4th, that says it all. Thank you Burn Hall

Lovely hotel. Rooms a little tired but the service and staff were exceptional. As part of a big tour our meals were really good and thoroughly enjoyed. I made sure to find the chef and tell him. All the staff made us feel welcome and ensured we had an exceptional stay.

Firstly, as always, it's the staff who shine. Extremely friendly amd helpful and do their very best to make you welcome. However...the room we stayed in was extremely dated and in need of renovation and maintenance. The toilet flush needed pumping several times to flush. I did report this on leaving so could now be sorted. There was a huge crack in the sink, repaired by silicone. The radiator was switched off when we arrived, not welcoming, and the TRV came off when trying to switch on. I fixed this...no charge!! The shower rail was rusty, mould around the bath sealant. The TV worked. Yayy. Location was superb and there is a park and ride 15 minutes away which I would highly recommend for days out in York. The food was superb and generous and the free house wine im our deal was of good quality. So, in summary, hotel staff great, food great, location great, price we paid on travelzoo great, time away and how we spent it great. Room...not great. Hope thats fair and even handed.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Burn Hall Hotel from Thursday, 4 June to Sunday, 7 June. The staff were all very friendly and professional, and the service we received in the restaurant was superb. Really great waiters. The bar staff, Tom and Carina, were very good, friendly and welcoming. The room was great, clean and as expected, and the location of the hotel was ideal for our visits to York and a day trip to Whitby. The food was very good, and we enjoyed the breakfast, but especially the evening dinner. The food was great; very generous portions and of high quality. We travel extensively around the world, and our main home is in Florida. We have done many weekend breaks in the UK, and this was one of our favourites. We will definitely return to this hotel, maybe even this year. Thank you.
