About The Ship Inn

Downstairs, the restaurant and bar are the heart of the place, serving breakfast as well as generous meals through the day, including Sunday roasts and burgers that regulars come back for. Kids' meals are available, and the beer garden by the river is a popular spot to eat or drink, though some vegetables have been served under-hot. Staff are attentive and the overall feel is welcoming rather than formal.

What guests say
There simply aren't enough words to thank Phil, Vicky and the incredible team at The Ship Inn, Acaster Malbis. We booked every room in the inn for our daughter's wedding, and from the very beginning they made what could have been a stressful weekend feel effortless. Nothing was ever too much trouble. They were so warm, welcoming and accommodating, always going the extra mile to make sure every member of our family and all of our guests felt completely at home. The food was exceptional throughout our stay, and the homemade trifle was honestly the best we've ever tasted! Every meal was beautifully prepared and served with such care. The rooms were immaculate, comfortable and beautifully maintained, providing the perfect place to relax after such an emotional and joyful celebration. What really makes The Ship Inn so special, though, is the people. Phil, Vicky and every single member of staff genuinely care about their guests. Their kindness, attention to detail and willingness to help with absolutely anything played a huge part in making our daughter's wedding weekend everything we had hoped for and more. If you're looking for somewhere with amazing food, spotless accommodation and hospitality that's second to none, The Ship Inn is an absolute little gold mine. We feel incredibly lucky to have found it and can't recommend it highly enough. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to Phil, Vicky and the whole team. You helped create memories that our family will cherish forever. We can't wait to come back.

Great lunch experience at The Ship Inn. Well done kitchen team on some great dishes (The Fish Pie Crumble from the Specials was great). Staff were accommodating despite our slight delay due to traffic. Selection of drinks is great and a varied food menu meant everyone was catered for.

First time visiting The Ship Inn and it definitely won’t be the last. The setting was fantastic, creating a really relaxed and welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The food was absolutely stunning — beautifully presented and full of flavour — with generous portion sizes that felt excellent value for the cost. The kids’ menu was also great, with plenty of choice, which made it an easy and enjoyable visit for the whole family. The service was impeccable throughout; friendly, attentive, and effortless. We’d 100% recommend it and will definitely be going again.

Diners like this pub's delicious and plentiful food, including Sunday roasts and signature burgers, and appreciate the reasonable prices. They also highlight the friendly, attentive staff and the welcoming atmosphere, especially in the beer garden by the river.
Some reviews mention the vegetables can be lukewarm.
