About York Pavilion Hotel, BW Signature Collection

York is a city of narrow medieval streets, a famous Minster and the National Railway Museum, but a little breathing space from the crowds is easy to find at the York Pavilion Hotel, BW Signature Collection. Set back from the centre with its own gardens, this traditional redbrick property gives guests a calmer base while keeping the main sights within easy reach.

The hotel has 63 rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, and accessible rooms are available. Guests can expect room service, drinks in the room, laundry service and free Wi-Fi throughout. Breakfast is served on site, and the restaurant looks out over the garden, with a bar, outdoor seating and a picnic area also available for relaxing outside. Business travellers are catered for with meeting rooms and business services, and concierge and luggage storage add to the practical side of a stay.

Outside, there's an electric vehicle charge point and chargeable on-site parking, useful for those arriving by car. Beyond the grounds, the surrounding area offers golf, fishing and horse riding nearby, along with pubs, restaurants and entertainment within easy reach. Pets are welcome, making this a straightforward choice for those wanting a quiet garden retreat close to York's main attractions.

Had a lovely two night stay here. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Hot water was excellent. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Only issue was no meals served after breakfast. Easy access to York using bus services

On first inspection beautiful hotel. The decor in the public areas is beautiful, the receptionist was friendly and helpful. Sadly our room was very tired and brown. The building is old and but in a fabulous way. You can tell its got history. But the room I had was old fashioned in the wrong way. The pine furniture was not ornate but functional and that's the only appeal it had. The walls where damaged and painted dark brown. It lacked warmth on both an ascetic nature and the temperature. No water bottle? It was very basic and I was so disappointed as the public areas are beautifully presented. No lifts, so ask for a ground floor room if you have problems with steps. The hotel has so much to offer but it clearly runs on events. The wedding photos need updating. It missed on so many levels. Location for the Shambles is excellent, no. 7 bus runs every 10 mins from outside. Parking at the hotel too, rare for York. It could be amazing, it was just OK. I cannot fault reception, super friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel. Rooms clean and quirky with all the facilities you need for a short stay. Reasonably priced with an on site bar and restaurant and nice courtyard garden. Staff really friendly too. Only a short taxi trip into the centre or a 20-25 min walk if you fancy stretching your legs. Would stay again.

Good size rooms with ample space to easy walk around the room. En suite with a bath and a shower. Shower packed any real pressure / power regardless if shower head setting. Decor is a little dated and hopefully over the rooms will lget spruced up. Staff all very polite and helpful. Small bar on site although we didn't use it had a decent selection of beverages on offer. Checking out day and was a shame the water had been turned off for a fault / repair - hopefully a quick fix. Walk into York.centre was around 40minutes but you are on a bus route. Breakfast was nice with a small selection of cooked options and continental style options too. Bed / pillows was really comfy with a TV in the room. Hallway outside was loud though with crwaky floorboards. Nice enough hotel and would stay again
