Keavil House Hotel

Stayed for one night on a quick work trip and would book again if I’m in the area. Room was spacious and decent, and with the good weather I had dinner out on the veranda. The food was okay — not great, not bad, just fine for a short stay. I used the gym before work; the equipment is a bit dated, but it still has everything you need for a proper workout. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and overall four stars feels about right.

I had an excellent stay here. The room was very clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The bed was really comfy and the room felt bright and relaxing. The bathroom was spotless and the shower was great, especially after using the swimming pool. The pool and leisure facilities were a highlight and made the stay even more enjoyable. The hotel had a welcoming atmosphere, and the in-room tea and coffee setup was a nice touch. Everything felt well looked after and easy to use. I also really enjoyed having my own room, which made the experience even better. Overall, I had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

Lovely place. Stayed with my wife in June 2026. As a gluten intolerant visitor I found the business very well informed and had no issues with food. The hotel is clean, quiet, comfortable and has excellent facilities. Staff were universally pleasant and helpful. Lovers of wildlife should take the opportunity to walk to Dean Plantation about 1.6 miles away as red squirrels will be seen there.. which is not a common sight in lowland Scotland.

Came for a long weekend. Staff were friendly and room was a good size. Although heavily stained carpet and it was so hot in there. The restaurant is overpriced for what it is. No gluten free bread for the pate starter even though it was stated on the menu. Also £20 for a burger and chips that looked like it came from the local kebab house. Service at evening meal was also poor. Good breakfast selection. The bar staff were lovely each evening with a couple helping us decide where to order food from as we wasn’t willing to do the restaurant again after our first meal. Fire alarm went off at 3am, thankfully a false alarm, but it was all a bit of a shambles. Just one guy in the foyer telling people to go back to bed. No explanation, apology or organisation.
