About Adamson Hotel

Step into a room at the Adamson Hotel and you get a clean, comfortable space with an en-suite bathroom, plenty of room to spread out, and drinks laid on to help you settle in. Family rooms and accessible rooms are available, and free WiFi is included throughout, so the basics are well covered whether you're stopping over for a night or staying longer.

Downstairs, the restaurant and bar serve food that guests describe as genuinely good, backed by a solid range of drinks, and staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included, though service at that particular meal has been known to feel a bit chaotic during busier periods. Kids' meals and packed lunches are available, and there's an outdoor seating area and picnic spot for fine weather. The hotel also handles weddings, with a bridal suite and meeting rooms for more formal occasions, plus laundry and luggage storage for practical needs.

The Adamson sits on Main Street in Dunfermline, in Fife, with free on-site parking making it an easy base for exploring. Edinburgh Zoo is within reach as a day-trip option, Dunfermline Town is around 2.3 miles off, and there's a golf course, pubs, and restaurants nearby for evenings out.

I would have given this 5 stars if it wasnt for the bathroom in our room. It a as like an after thought and they tried to cram it in, the bath wasnt wide enough that you could face towards the shower and the shower head seemed older than the hills round about the place- fired water every direction other than towards me!! The staff were great in the restaurant and credit to the kitchen as our food was amazing.

We stayed here as an overnight stop and were pleased to find a good B&B deal. The room was clean, comfortable, and perfectly adequate for our needs. Unfortunately, the breakfast experience was disappointing. When we arrived in the dining area, there were no clean tables available, with approximately 8–10 tables still covered with used dishes. I appreciate that busy periods can be challenging, and I am not someone who normally complains, but the situation seemed beyond what one member of staff could reasonably manage. The young waitress was working hard and doing her best to attend to guests, clear tables, and replenish items. However, there was no tea available, no clean glasses for juice, no milk, and several hot breakfast items, including beans and eggs, had run out. Guests were left waiting and becoming increasingly frustrated. What was particularly noticeable was that while the waitress was struggling to keep up with demand, another member of staff remained at the reception desk. I understand they may have had other responsibilities, but some additional support for even a short period would have helped greatly and improved the experience for both guests and the waitress. At one point, several guests, ourselves included, were waiting for various items while also searching for a clean table. The young waitress remained polite and professional throughout, and I felt she was doing everything she could under difficult circumstances. My complaint is not directed at her, but rather at the apparent lack of teamwork and support during a busy breakfast service. With better staff coordination, what was otherwise a pleasant stay could have ended on a much more positive note.

Only had dinner in the restaurant, didn't stay at the hotel, food and service very good. Good selection of food and drink at reasonable prices. Lovely, well kept areas, nice comfortable seating and pleasant staff. Wish we'd managed to get a room here instead of the Best Western down the road, as this was a local overnight stay prior to a cruise from Rosyth (only about 15mins drive away). Would recommended.

Will start off with the positives. Room was a good size and very clean. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. Food was good and reasonably priced. Good shower which was easy to use. Cooked breakfast was good but very little to choose if you didn't want a cooked breakfast. Now the negatives. We were on the ground floor looking out at the carpark(room 105). A car parked approx a foot away from the window. No screen or blind on the window so there was zero privacy. Had to close the curtains due to this. Not ideal during daylight. Pillows on bed were very thin and uncomfortable. Bed itself wasn't too bad. Had to bang room door to get it to close properly which is annoying for other guests. Walls of rooms must be very thin as you could hear the guests in the next room speaking. If we were to book again we would make sure we had a room on upper floor.
