Had a fantastic experience at Mehmet Efendi. The tea is absolutely delicious and pairs perfectly with the baklava, which is packed with high-quality pistachios. We also tried the künefe—it was good, though definitely on the sweeter side compared to others I’ve had, so it’s perfect if you have a real sweet tooth! A special shoutout to Ali, who is an amazing person and a truly great host. He made us feel right at home. Highly recommend!

It's hard for me to review this place, as I think it does certain things well and others poorly. Their specialties clearly lie in Turkish cuisine, with the poğaça and menemen (not pictured) being delicious. Their breads are another selling point. The Turkish bread and chocolate croissant are amazing, could not recommend strongly enough as they are also served warm. The cakes struggle, as other reviewers have stated. Their Black Forest is more cream than cake, which gets a bit sickly after a while. Service is nice, though can be slow. This morning, both employees were lost in conversation and we could see other tables visibly lose patience as they waited for their orders to be placed.

Had a great experience here. Was served by Mehdi who was excellent and extremely friendly, clearly very experienced in his role. The classic baclava and cold baclava were both delicious as well as the lokum. The atmosphere was also very nice and classy.

This place is literally divine! A little slice of heaven tucked into Whitechapel Road. It’s so pretty, like a Turkish Laduree! It’s near my office and I had never popped in but I went in this morning and it’s a real treasure. The sweets are a feast for the eyes and they have a great Turkish breakfast menu but also beautiful take away coffee! I was so excited the gentlemen gave me free Baklava to try for my breakfast and it’s the most delicious Baklava I have ever had! I bought some cute little Valentines gifts for my colleuages I have an awayday with. It will definitely be a regular haunt of mine now!
