Had a wonderful stay at the Castle Gate Guest House. We were going to an event at the Playhouse and this was located just across the road. We were met by Jo at the door and shown to our room. She’s fantastic. I loved her. We had parked on the cobbles in the car park. Jo explained we could get free parking just across the road and it would be better if we moved the car there. They use a disc parking in Alnwick and the disc time would’ve ran out and we might’ve gotten a ticket. Our rooms were lovely. Nicely decorated. I loved the information book. Full of menus of local places for breakfast, lunch and a drink etc. Leaflets about historical, places of interest. There is a code for the door. The pillows were too hard for. There are tea and coffee facilities in the room. The en-suite is tiny. The shower needs some attention which I’m sure Jo will be aware of. We didn’t use it. The room was a bit hot on the morning and I had to open the window. Overall a great little place. Which I would definitely stay at again. Jo is brilliant and made us feel very welcomed 🙏🏻

Fantastic wee place to stay. room only. there's of street parking but only for two vehicles. ideally placed in the centre of Alnwick if you're looking to spend a day out two there exploring the castle. depending on your mobility then castle is 7 mins walk away.

Jo is an amazing host. She is warm and welcoming. Nothing is a problem to her. I stayed in the family room with 2 grandchildren and she treated them as if they were her own grandchildren. If you want somewhere to stay with a relaxed atmosphere, clean room and a fridge to keep your drinks cold then look no further. She goes above and beyond what you would get at most hotels. Her rate for the location is amazing probably couldn’t be beaten. Thanks a lot Jo. Erin already looking forward to a return visit xx

Just returned from a 3 night stay for a wedding. Excellent location, 2 minutes into Alnwick Town and Alnwick Gardens. Rooms were lovely and of a good size, really comfy bed. Jo and Tracy were lovely and welcoming. There is parking at front but not ideal but 24 hr free parking 2 minutes walk away. Highly recommend.
