About The Dirty Bottles Inn

Narrowgate is one of Alnwick's oldest streets, and it's here that The Dirty Bottles Inn sits among the town's stone buildings, within easy reach of Alnwick Castle and the Alnwick Garden. The surrounding Northumberland countryside offers walking routes, fishing, and golf for those who fancy venturing further afield.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks available in-room, and free WiFi, with 24 hour reception on hand for whatever time you arrive. Breakfast is served each morning, and the on-site restaurant and bar are a draw in their own right, with generous portions, a well-regarded Sunday lunch, and a cosy, characterful setting that guests find comfortable rather than formal. Staff are attentive and the atmosphere leans towards quirky rather than polished.

Dogs are welcome, with blankets, water, and treats provided for four-legged guests. Outdoor seating gives extra space to enjoy a drink, and the town itself has further pubs, bars, and restaurants within walking distance, alongside parking for anyone arriving by car.

Best pub in Alnwick in my opinion. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Great looking pub that is decorated to a high standard and is clean and tidy. Massive menu that caters for all dietary requirements. Great beer garden and music. TV screens (but on silent so as not to impose too much) Food was delicious and plentiful, child and dog friendly.Good selection of drinks and a friendly atmosphere. I would highly recommend. A definite go to when in Alnwick.

Our experience at the Dirty Bottles restaurant was incredible. As you walk in, the decor allows it to feel stylish and new, while still retaining a sort of old look. The idea that you can view the 'dirty bottles' through a window outside makes it a unique and interesting restaurant. The service was brisk, and the waiters were attentive. The atmosphere is relaxed and fairly quiet, and the tables are appropriately spaced so that you feel secluded from anyone else eating their meal. The food was absolutely delicious too: the burgers were enormous; the starters arrived quickly and were not too heavy, and the ice cream waffle dessert was beyond indulgent - I still can taste its richness to this day. Overall, a fantastic experience, and it is priced average for a restaurant of such quality.

Everything was superb. Rooms were big and quirky in a good way and had decent mattresses and bedding. Proper old fashioned boozer with locals as well as tourists at the bar. Breakfast was great as were the evening meals we had there both nights. Not sure why anyone would splurge on the Cookie Jar when for a quarter of the price you can stay here.

Absolutely sensational. All staff welcoming, helpful, friendly and appear happy in their work. Natalie showed us our room at No 5 the beautiful themed room, with ornate double bed which was extremely comfortable and the bathroom which was stunning, I had to try the huge bath out and it was fabulous, I imagine a blessing after a long trek. However our trek was a very short one be ause the hotel is literally around the corner from Alnwick Castle The food was faultless, my steak was perfe tly cooked and the vegetarisn mral was very tasty too - breakfast was amazing and once again, staff ghat are on hand and one houng lady in particular so eloquently when serving visitors from different European countries !! So kind and amenable to everything anyone wanted that maybe wasn't a regular on the menu. Of course we had full English and it was superb ! A sensational stay x thank you we will be back a perfe t location to see Cinema shows at the castle ..Andrea Bocelli was amazing ing even simply on s reen
