We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rothay Garth. The hotel was exceptionally clean, well maintained, and impressively quiet despite its convenient central location in the heart of town, making it ideal for exploring the local area on foot. The gardens were beautifully kept and created a very relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection and high-quality food each morning. Most notably, the staff were warm, professional, and attentive throughout our stay, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We would not hesitate to return and highly recommend this hotel to others visiting the area.

Pros: charming Victorian building situated very close to amenities; very friendly staff. Cons: we were given room 11 in the extension which was in dire need of refurbishment, particularly the 'power' shower which didn't work very well at all (I note a similar review of room 11 from a year ago, so unfortunately nothing has changed since then); lack of plug sockets and surfaces; very thin walls and noisy water pipes. Breakfast is cooked to order - the food is nice but the small portion sizes need to be supplemented by the (limited) options from the breakfast buffet. We also had to share a table with strangers even when there were plenty of other spaces available.

Clean, bright, comfortable, nicely decorated roomy rooms with very comfortable beds and comfortable seating, plenty of electrical outlets, and in-room all-you-can-drink tea and coffee with milk. Very friendly and helpful hostess and staff. Great parking and absolutely delicious breakfast.

Honestly we were a bit underwhelmed with our stay between the staple I caught on my foot from the rug, to confusing duplicative shampoo / body wash / hand soap bottle labels, and inability to open the windows beyond a small crack leading to a quite warm room until the early morning. The breakfast doesn’t start till 8am so we had to miss it due to travel as well which was disappointing
