About Lacet House
Lacet House is a small, traditional Lakeland bed and breakfast on Kelsick Road, just a short walk from the centre of Ambleside and the surrounding fells. With only five rooms, it has the feel of a well-kept family house rather than a large hotel, and its position gives easy access to both the town and the open countryside beyond.

We were hiking in the Lake District and booked through a third-party, otherwise would never have chosen this hotel. Please know that it is on a busy street so hard to sleep when windows are open (but, of course, that is not uncommon in Europe.) negatives: First, the owners were not present upon our arrival when check-in was supposed to be between 3 and 6 PM. No apologies which would’ve gone a long way.It is a very simple place but the bathroom was the worst we stayed at in the UK. Frayed towels, no lightbulb, light switch for shower on outside of bathroom and mold in shower stall. See photos below. Also, know that there is no common area to sit in. Just the hotel rooms and the breakfast room, which is open for breakfast only. Positives: clean breakfast area with good breakfast options.

We loved everything about this place! The location is perfect. Right in the heart of town and next to the bus station for easy travel. Louise and Shaun are amazing hosts and the breakfast is delicious with a variety of options.
