We recently stayed at Westlands Country Park for a big family weekend away and, overall, everyone had a great time. The lodges themselves couldn’t really be faulted – they were immaculate, clean, well-equipped and comfortable. The only minor maintenance issue was that a couple of door handles seemed to be hanging off slightly. The amount of goose droppings around the park was also noticeable and could perhaps be managed a bit better. Unfortunately, the biggest downside of our stay was the customer service. The attitude of some staff members in the restaurant left a lot to be desired. On one occasion, one member of our party waited around 15 minutes for their breakfast while the rest of us had already finished eating. When it was queried, we overheard a member of staff mutter under her breath, “that’s no my fault, it’s the kitchen,” followed by a large sigh. Having worked in hospitality myself, I completely understand that busy periods and off days happen, but comments like that are unnecessary and don’t create a welcoming atmosphere. I also felt uncomfortable in the shop. As an adult customer, the woman working at the till spent the entire interaction staring at me, which made for an awkward experience. Another area that could definitely be improved is catering for dietary requirements. There were no alternative milks available, meaning I couldn’t have tea or coffee due to a lactose allergy. There also appeared to be no vegetarian or vegan breakfast options. With so many people having dietary requirements nowadays, whether through allergies, intolerances or lifestyle choices, it would be worth reviewing the menu and available drinks options. Despite these issues, we did enjoy our family weekend away and the quality of the lodges was excellent. With some improvements to customer service and catering options, the overall experience would be much better.

Well first time visiting here. We were a group of six, we all stayed in a our own Wildwood Lodge. The lodges are well equipped and very comfortable. The only thing would be more instructions on how to use music system, not a deal breaker. Hot tub is a fab addition but would suggest some form if covering which would make it even more cosy to use in the wet. From checking in to going for meals and clay pigeon shooting all the staff were absolutely fantastic, greeted with a smile and the offer of assistance which just made you feel as if it was home from home. Will definitely be back, may have to bring my cat if allowed 😺😺 Thanks John and Julie No 4 Wildwood

We visited in December 2025 and stayed in the Savannah Lodge (Myself, My husband and 2 children). We had such an unproblematic, relaxed and care free stay! We wanted to go away soon after the chaos of Christmas to decompress and unwind and we got just that. Cabins are a great size, clean and modern. The park itself is very clean and safe. We loved the hot tub! The hot tubs are checked each morning too which we were impressed by. The fact that the only ‘oh no’ moment of our holiday was when we realised there wasn’t a tin opener half way through making tuna pasta shows how well it all went and it brought a lot of laughs anyway as my husband had to open the cans the old fashioned way haha! We will definitely be staying again, we’ve found our happy place!
