Red deer roam the hillsides around Achalic Beag, sea eagles circle overhead, and otters inhabit the nearby burn and sea loch—all within sight of this refurbished cottage in Lerags Glen. A 10-minute drive puts you in Oban; a quiet single-track road winds down to the property through landscape that shifts from moorland to woodland. The bar and restaurant 2 miles away draws locals; a beach lies 6 miles beyond. For walkers and wildlife watchers, the setting is as much the point as the shelter.

Inside, the cottage sleeps four across two bedrooms—a zip-and-link super king in one room, a standard king in the other—with two bathrooms. The ground floor holds a living room with woodburner and triple-aspect windows that frame views across fields and glens; a modern kitchen with electric cooker, dishwasher and microwave; and a utility room with washer and dryer. Essentials like bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating are included, along with initial logs for the fire. There is parking for several cars and a secure bike store. One dog is welcome, though the surrounding sheep farm means it must stay on a lead.

The property sits on a working farm and reads as a traditional highland cottage from outside, though the interior is contemporary. No smoking throughout. You arrive after 17:00 and depart before 09:00.

A lovely cottage. Here you'll find peace and quiet, yet close to the lively town of Oban. The house is fully equipped and comfortably furnished, including a wood-burning stove.
