Couples and small families will find Holly Cottage works well for a few days away from the ordinary. The two-storey property sits within the grounds of Bonawe House, with one bedroom offering a king bed and the other two bunks, so it suits different group makeups. Everything needed for self-catering is there: a full kitchen with electric cooking, dishwasher and access to a sitting-out area with views across the grounds; a bathroom with bath and shower; heating and electricity included in the price, along with wifi and bed linen.
The cottage overlooks Loch Etive and sits surrounded by mature beech trees. A patio door from the kitchen opens to an outdoor seating area, and the shared woodland grounds provide space to wander. Taynuilt village is within walking distance, offering a pub, shops and a golf course. The Bonawe Historic Iron Furnace is nearby for an afternoon out. There is an unfenced loch in the grounds, which matters if you're bringing young children. One pet is welcome. The property has parking for two cars and an electric vehicle charging point.

Our family of four rented one of the vacation homes at Bonawe House. The furnishings in the vacation home were excellent, and there was plenty of space. The kitchen and bathroom had been renovated and were equipped with the latest technology (induction stove!). We particularly loved the beautiful gardens on the estate, including the duck pond—lots for the children to discover! The landlords, Renate and Damon, are very friendly and extremely helpful. Communication worked really well. All in all: a wonderful week's vacation in great accommodation! We'd love to come back.

We stayed for two nights in the Garden cottage. It was beautiful, comfortable and had everything you need. The bed was incredibly comfortable with the most luxurious duvet - I had amazing sleeps. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms it was the perfect set up for my family, and our friends stayed in the Rose cottage. A great location - close to Oban. The owners were very friendly and responsive hosts - with a very detailed guest information book with any detail you might need. Highly recommend the Bonawe House!

Stayed here for 2 nights with friends. Excellent location. The property was very clean and it is very spacious. Has all the amenities which one would potentially require. The hosts are very warm and welcoming. Would love to come back to this property to stay a little longer.

Beautiful old house with holiday cottages around the courtyard set in a luscious green garden. Very friendly owners and very comfortable cottages with everything you need. Can highly recommend for both long and short stays (we stayed for two weeks!).
