Invernoe Cottage is a single-storey detached property set deep within a working sheep farm on the eastern shore of Loch Etive. The 5000-acre estate offers genuine seclusion—reached by a two-mile rough track—yet sits within reach of Oban's restaurants, shops and ferry terminal for the Inner Isles, eighteen miles away by road. The grounds hold red deer, seals, otters and a stream running through sloping banks; one dog can stay free, though it must remain on a lead among the sheep.
The cottage is all on the ground floor behind a seven-step entrance. Four bedrooms sleep six: a kingsize, two rooms with paired singles each, and a smaller single (flexible use only). Two bathrooms include a bath with shower and a separate shower cubicle. The open-plan living space has a woodburner, freeview television and patio doors onto a verandah. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with a dishwasher and electric range. A second living area has a DVD player. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are included; wood for the burner is provided initially, then charged per basket. An enclosed garden has seating, a barbecue and furniture; parking for three cars sits on site. No smoking throughout.
The location suits those wanting to walk, kayak or mountain bike in serious hill country, or simply retreat from everyday noise. Inverawe Fine Foods lies nearby for provisions, and the surrounding landscape—lochs, mountains, woodlands—is the main draw rather than attractions.
