Bakewell Stays runs a small group of properties on Haddon Road, within a few minutes' walk of the town centre, built around Avenue House, a boutique bed and breakfast with six en-suite double rooms across two floors finished in a contemporary style. A second property, Tannery House, adds three further ground-floor en-suite rooms nearby, useful for group bookings that need more than one house's worth of rooms.
For a self-catering alternative, Bakewell Barn is a dog-friendly cottage with a double and a twin bedroom and two bathrooms, giving guests travelling with pets an option that the main B&B rooms do not offer. Breakfasts across the B&B rooms are home-cooked, and the properties are run as a single small business rather than a chain, with a personal approach to bookings and group stays.
The Haddon Road location keeps guests close enough to walk into Bakewell for the market, restaurants and bakeries, while still being quieter than a room directly on the square, and it suits both couples and small groups travelling together.

Fantastic location, out of the door and straight into Bakewell. Lovely, clean rooms. Very welcoming owner, Fantastic breakfast. One pointer, during the heatwave the room would of benefited from a fan particularly on the 2nd floor. No complaints, we had a lovely stay.

We recently visited Bakewell to celebrate my 40th birthday and were looking for somewhere charming and within easy walking distance of the town centre. The Avenue House exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we arrived, Sarah and Brian were fantastic hosts; warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing. They really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, with beds that made it easy to get a great night’s sleep after enjoying everything Bakewell has to offer. Each morning, we were treated to superb breakfasts, freshly prepared and absolutely delicious, easily one of the highlights of our stay. The location is perfect for exploring the town, and the overall atmosphere of the house made for a relaxing and memorable trip. If you’re looking for a cosy, well-run place to stay in a beautiful setting, this is it. Top marks all round, keep up the fantastic work and thank you.

Really enjoyed staying here. Nice comfy room, lovely breakfast (including excellent Derbyshire Oatcakes) Very friendly, helpful and welcoming owners who work hard to make this a nice B&B Great location within easy short walk of town centre and all the facilities, good pub very close, short walk from bus stop if you don't want to drive. I was slightly concerned that being near the main road it might be noisy at night but this wasn't the case at all - had a good nights sleep. Would certainly stay here again, and would recommend it.

Fabulous friendly and welcoming hosts. Great location short walk to the town. Lots of great shops to browse and good selection of coffee shops too. The Avenue was clean, comfortable and they served a delicious cooked breakfast every morning. Rooms clean and well equipped. Comfortable bed in spacious room, up two flights of steep stairs so may not suit everyone but perfect for us.
