Netherwood

Netherwood is a two-bedroom apartment in Bakewell, in the Derbyshire Dales. Both bedrooms have zip-and-link beds that convert between super-king and twin configurations; the second also has two single beds, making six sleeping spaces in total. The first bedroom has its own ensuite; the second floor bathroom serves the living areas. There is car parking for two vehicles on site, and bike storage for exploring the trails nearby.

The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and all the usual appliances—leading through to a dining area and living room with TV and DVD player. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating are included. An enclosed patio with garden furniture and a barbecue opens from the kitchen. The apartment welcomes one dog. No smoking indoors.

Bakewell sits at the heart of the Peak District National Park. It is walking distance from a pub, shops and restaurants. From here, the Monsal Trail runs along disused railway lines through limestone valleys; Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall are all within easy reach, as are the caverns near Castleton and the hiking routes that crisscross the area. The weekly market in town has been running since medieval times.
