The Rutland Arms Hotel, Bakewell

The hotel itself was lovely; comfortable, clean, well laid out and in an excellent position in the town. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming and could not do enough to accommodate us. The restaurant was fabulous and food delicious and again all the staff so friendly! If we come back to the area we would definitely stay here and would highly recommend The Rutland.

Wow ! What service we received last night celebrating our wedding anniversary by having an evening meal here, we actually got married here. The staff went above and beyond and made sure that we were looked after, we even had a celebration plate delivered to the table with our puddings which was such a lovely touch. All the staff were so welcoming, with smiles too. The food, especially the steak was devine ! We will be back. Thank you to all for making our meal such an event

Absolutely love this hotel. Stayed here on our way to Yorkshire and what a find. Situated in the heart of Bakewell which is a lovely little town. Parking is limited but we had a lovely room overlooking the gardens. Food was really good, breakfast cooked tonight order which is unusual these days but the best thing was the staff. Every single person was happy, cheerful and kind to us but special thanks go to Holly the waitress/barmaid. She went above and beyond in my opinion. If i ever come here again I would definitely stay here. Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️

We stayed here for just one night but would've stayed the whole weekend if we didn't have to move on. All the public rooms and areas are very much of an old fashioned polished dark wood style and the walls are full of paintings and prints. All the staff were very polite and helpful. Our double room was spotlessly clean. As well as the usual tea and coffee supplies there was also a coffee machine and a couple of bottles of water for us. A nice touch on the writing pad was a handwritten note welcoming us to the hotel. Some reviews mention the rooms are a touch on the small side but on looking at the room it just meant there wasn't a bedside cabinet on one side of the bed. The bathroom was spotlessly clean with a modern,powerful shower and a heated towel rail. We had great food in the bar area and were able to have coffee and retreat into cosy chairs to chat with our friends afterwards. The next morning we had breakfast in the main large dining room (again, lots of polished dark wood with pictures and prints on every wall). Breakfast was cooked to order with lots of options but didn't take very long to arrive. Cereal, toast and fruit juices were available to help yourself. The carpark is across the road from the hotel and possibly a little tight should you arrive later but as the hotel is in the town centre there's probably another option for parking. We'll certainly be back
