SAMA Bankside

A truly lovely cocktail bar restaurant with a beautiful location and a wonderful ambiance. The atmosphere is stylish, warm, and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy. The food is full of flavour and clearly prepared with care, while the staff are friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining and drinks experience.

Editing my review because they were offering free shots for a good review. The experience was initially great and they took music requests which is always wonderful, HOWEVER, the bar staff decided to close before 12:30am (despite the opening times saying 1am closure) and were unclear and unpleasant in their approach to telling us this. They did not call last orders and gave us 5 minutes notice to leave, before becoming very rude. Half of our group was in the toilet so we were unaware of this announcement until we came back to the main bar area. The security guard in particular was very snarky, making remarks about us being inconsiderate to the staff, and telling the males in our group to “take control of your women” which is extremely unprofessional. It’s a shame because we were a small group there for a birthday and spent a fair amount of money on drinks, only to be treated very harshly and sadly, this soured our evening.

We recently had our Engagement Party at SAMA. After looking at over 20 other places, SAMA was ideal - great location near the river and Blackfriars station, private area downstairs with cloakroom, toilet and bar. It is a good looking space which worked perfectly for what we wanted with just under 100 people plus kids. Steve made the booking easy and was helpful during the planning process with my many questions. The night went so well and we had the space from 3pm until 1am for a minimum spend only. Recommend the prawns! Thanks to Steve, James and the team!

Spend a great evening here. The staff was really helpful and kind, talking to us with respect and helping to choose drinks based on our preferences. Food is great, so is the atmosphere! Suitable for hot days, as the temperature is good and there's access outside. Not too crowded, and the bartender is really sweet!! Loved it😋💜
