About DoubleTree by Hilton Bath
A generous breakfast buffet is one of the highlights at DoubleTree by Hilton Bath, with enough variety to set guests up for a day exploring the city. The hotel also has a restaurant, a bar and a snack bar on site, along with outdoor seating and a garden and picnic area for warmer days, so there's no need to go far for food and drink at any point in the stay.
The hotel sits beside the River Avon on Walcot Street, within easy reach of Bath's historic centre, its shopping streets and Georgian architecture. There are 176 rooms across four floors, including family and accessible options, all with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning, and many with views over the river or city. Some rooms show their age in terms of upkeep, so it's worth bearing that in mind when booking.
Beyond the restaurant and bar, facilities run to an indoor swimming pool, a gym, a spa and sauna, and meeting rooms for business visitors, plus laundry and room service for convenience. Staff are consistently helpful, which makes settling in straightforward. The surrounding area suits walking and cycling, with pubs, restaurants and further entertainment close by, and pets are welcome for those travelling with animals. Parking is available nearby for a fee.
What guests say
Great location, next to the town centre and local connections. Markets next door. Parking is a bug bear with the hotel seemingly not knowing who's the spaces are out front, once u park there though there's QR codes directing you to pay £18 for 24 hours. Rooms good as you would expect.

We stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Bath as a large group before a wedding in the nearby countryside, and it was the perfect choice for bringing everyone together. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely seemed excited to be part of such a special celebration. They created a lovely atmosphere and made all of our guests feel looked after. The hotel team was also incredibly helpful in arranging a block of rooms for our group, including breakfast, which made coordinating everything so much easier and stress-free. Breakfast each morning was excellent. The buffet was extensive, fresh, and had something for everyone. A special thank you to Mateo, who was outstanding throughout our stay. He was professional, attentive, and so kind in helping me understand the celiac-friendly options available. He took the time to explain everything clearly, made me feel completely comfortable, and delivered a level of service that really stood out. He was friendly, polished, and clearly takes pride in making guests feel cared for. The location is fantastic—right in the heart of Bath, with easy walking access to the city’s main sights, shops, and restaurants. The views from the hotel are beautiful as well, especially overlooking the river and surrounding historic architecture. We had a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend this hotel for group stays, weddings, or anyone visiting Bath.

I’ve stayed at the DoubleTree Hilton Bath a number of times, including recently over the Half Marathon weekend (March 14–16) with the hotel being ideally just a 10min walk from Victoria Park where the race starts. As a Diamond member, I was upgraded by Hilton system prior to arrival to a King deluxe which was a fairly modern, spacious room. The bed was super comfortable. The hotel was busy with a number of events taking place. The popcorn in the lobby is also a great touch and adds to the welcoming atmosphere. All the staff were great and managed the high capacity exceptionally well although there was some who really stood out. Hassan, Emilia and Max at the front desk. Over several years Max has consistently been excellent with Hilton. This is clearly a very well managed hotel to say the least, I’ll definitely be returning. I visited the restaurant multiple times and the menu was brilliant. Special mention to Kieron and Jakub who were outstanding, working incredibly hard and providing top service in F&B. Breakfast was nice with a good selection and the option to order porridge was ideal a few hours before the race. There’s a carpark underground with a set of stairs directly outside the entrance. The gym was decent and the hotel’s location is very convenient, right in the city centre.
