About Grays Boutique B&B
Grays occupies a large Victorian villa in Upper Oldfield Park, on the hillside south-west of the centre. The house dates from the 1880s and stands on a quiet residential road, with views north across the rooftops towards the Royal Crescent and the hills beyond. It is owned and run by the Gray family, who also keep a sister property in Cornwall, and the whole place is set up around a small number of guests rather than volume.
There are twelve bedrooms, each decorated individually with a mix of antique and contemporary furniture, patterned fabrics and modern bathrooms - several with roll-top or freestanding baths. The larger rooms on the upper floors have the best outlook; a couple at garden level open onto the terrace. Beds are good, rooms are properly quiet at night, and there is no through traffic.
Breakfast is served in a light dining room and uses local suppliers, with cooked options prepared to order alongside pastries, fruit and yoghurt. There is a guest sitting room, off-street parking, and the owners keep a well-informed list of restaurants, walks and places to visit in the surrounding countryside. Children over a certain age are accepted; the house is not set up for very young children.
The walk into the centre takes about fifteen minutes and is downhill going in, uphill coming back, which is worth bearing in mind. Bath Spa station is roughly ten minutes on foot. Grays suits couples wanting somewhere calm and residential rather than a city-centre hotel, guests arriving by car who need somewhere to leave it, and anyone using Bath as a base for exploring Wiltshire, the Mendips and the Cotswolds.

What guests say
Absolutely excellent from start to finish. We had a delightful stay. Lovely, friendly welcome and our room was beautiful. Light, airy, tastefully decorated and most important spotlessly clean. Breakfast was amazing as well. The most delicious freshly cooked breakfast I’ve had in a long time. We had a great nights sleep and will definitely be back the next time we have a trip to Bath. Just wish I knew what the mattress was because it was soooooo comfortable we could do with one like it at home!!! Helpful (0)

We had a lovely stay at Grays Boutique B&B in Bath. Our room was absolutely beautiful, with a stunning four-poster bed and gorgeous views overlooking the city. Everything was spotlessly clean and the little touches like robes and slippers made it feel extra special. It is an old building, which adds to its charm, but you can hear guests in the room above if there is someone staying there. It wasn’t a huge issue for us, just something to be aware of. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of options, including a lovely continental selection. The staff were fantastic – very attentive, friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Free parking on site was a big bonus, and it’s only about a 10-minute walk into Bath, which makes it a perfect location. We would definitely stay again!

What a wonderful place to stay, you will not be disappointed if you're visiting the beautiful city of Bath. We were met on arrival by our lovely host Stuart who was very friendly and helpful. He also uograded our room as a nice surprise for Lady Emns birthday weekend. He gave us a list of recommended places to eat which was really useful. We ate at OPA and the Botanist during our stay 💕 The room was fantastic, the whole B;B was well presented, ckean, well cared for and beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. The breakfast room was a delight, again well thought out and the food fabulous. Nothing was a problem and you wont need lunch after a Grays breakfast 😋 We had a super time so its a five big stars from us ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ------------

A beautiful place to spend your time in Bath. We parked our car and walked everywhere, into the city plus local restaurants area not far away. The room was well appointed, we were in an attic room, even slippers and robe! Breakfast was superb and a great selection. The staff, especially at breakfast were really lovely.
