About Oldfields House - Bed & Breakfast

Oldfields House - Bed & Breakfast on Wells Road suits couples and independent travellers after a characterful base rather than a chain hotel, with a romantic, slightly quirky feel running through its 18 rooms. Traditional decor is kept in good order throughout, and several rooms make the most of their views over Bath. A lounge area gives guests somewhere to settle in the evening, and there's a bar on site for a drink before heading out.

Breakfast is a genuine highlight, with a full English on offer alongside vegetarian choices, and it's included as part of the stay. The property also has an indoor swimming pool, a garden, and free WiFi, plus free on-site parking, which is a real advantage for anyone driving into Bath. Staff are consistently described as warm and helpful, adding to the personal, family-run feel of the place.

The location on Wells Road puts guests within reach of Bath's centre, including the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey, making it a practical choice for sightseeing on foot while still having a quieter spot to return to at the end of the day.

Enjoyed a city break at Oldfields House. Location was convenient, being a short walk from Bath Spa Railway Station and the city centre. The bedroom was clean and tidy, with complimentary slippers/gowns and drinks (tea/water), TV, a comfy bed and lovely views. The en-suite bathroom/toilet had the expected selection of shampoo/soaps, clean towels and a toasty shower. Breakfast offered several menu options and all the food tried was delicious. Being able to help yourself to extra cereal, fruits and juice drinks was a plus. All staff interacted with during our stay were pleasant and friendly. I'd happily stay at Oldfields again.

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting Bath for a show at The Forum. It’s a classic but quirky hotel in a great location. Beds were super comfy. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Lovely view from our room (no. 2). We just felt it was quite a lot of money for what it actually was and also that parking should not be a chargeable extra.

Hotel/b and b 20minute walk frombath centre, up a fairly steep hill so bear in mind for arrival with luggage but is on bus route We booked 2 single rooms which were really nicely decorated and spacious. Ensuite shower and toilet. Complimentary toiletries and ear plugs that I needed as am a light sleeper and traffic noise was relentless all night Bed very comfortable and nice touches of complimentary biscuits and water. Room serviced daily and although hung towels up to be reused they appeared to change daily Bar lounge area nicely appointed and they serve drinks at very reasonable prices. Including a delicious Italian red Was some confusion as I was positive when booked it included breakfast but since then it not included with Expedia prices and is a add on. Which I chose not to buy

What a wonderful cozy step back in time, felt like staying with my grandparents again and I meant that in the best way possible, the 4 poster bed was comfortable and luxurious, room itself was well decorated, clean and toasty warm. Breakfast was an add on and well worth the money, good few options but can't go wrong with a full English. Staff were warm and welcoming, location is great, only a 5-10 minute walk into the city, parking is tight so if you have an option of a smaller car, bring that one 😂
