About Harington's Hotel
Harington's Hotel occupies a Georgian building on Queen Street, a narrow cobbled lane running off Queen Square in the middle of Bath. It has been owned and run by the same family for many years and is small enough that guests deal with the owners directly, which gives it a different feel from the larger city-centre hotels a few streets away.
There are thirteen bedrooms spread over four floors, and they vary considerably - some are snug, others have space for a seating area or a four-poster. All have been refurbished with modern bathrooms, air conditioning in most cases, and the usual tea and coffee facilities. There is no lift, so guests who would rather not manage stairs should ask for a lower floor when booking. The hotel also lets a handful of self-catering apartments nearby for stays where a kitchen is useful.
A small bar and lounge serve drinks and light food, and breakfast is cooked to order, with local produce and a proper vegetarian option. Staff are used to arranging restaurant tables, spa entry and taxis, and the hotel keeps a few permit parking spaces that can be booked in advance - a genuine advantage given the restrictions in the centre.
Queen Street is about three minutes from the Roman Baths and the Abbey, five from Milsom Street, and ten uphill from the Circus and Royal Crescent, so almost everything can be reached on foot. Rates are moderate for the location, which makes it a sensible choice for couples on a short break, for walkers using Bath as a base for the Cotswolds, and for anyone who prefers a small hotel where the staff know their name.

Breakfast was nice, rooms not very clean. Offered a different room but that room wasnt the cleanest but better than the last. Noisy at night time but convenient location. Rooms looked nice with unique the unique wall paper. Wished I booked else where.

STAY AWAY. I don't normally write reviews but I was so appalled at the room we had stayed in. The bathroom was a mess and looked like it hadn't been cleaned before our arrival, hair was in the bathtub and the room had a damp smell. I had high expectation as the rooms online looked amazing but the cleanliness was awful. The location was convenient but trying to sleep at night was a challenge as there was so much noise outside. Not sure if they had provided earplugs for this reason or another guest had left them behind so we left them. It looked like they didn't change the sheets on the bed, there were stains in the corner and upon closer inspection there were a couple hairs ( possibly from the housekeeper ). We wished we had booked elsewhere. I came here with my family and we were do disappointed.

I would not stay here again. I booked a Superior Queen Room through Booking.com which was advertised as a 30m² room with a bath. On arrival, the room provided was significantly smaller than advertised and did not contain a bath. When I raised this with reception, I was offered another room which did not address the issues. I therefore requested a refund. That request was refused. Instead, we were relocated to a separate townhouse away from the hotel. While the townhouse was larger, it was not the accommodation we had booked. We had specifically chosen and paid for a hotel room, not self-catering accommodation in a different building. The replacement accommodation was also directly adjacent to scaffolding and building works, and we were disturbed by construction activity early the following morning. What disappointed me most was not that a problem occurred, but how it was handled. Hotels sometimes make mistakes. However, when the room supplied does not match the room advertised, I would expect either the booked accommodation to be provided or a refund to be offered. In our case neither happened. If you book here, I would recommend checking very carefully that the room you are allocated matches the room description shown when booking.

I stayed at the Harrington Hotel with my family, and unfortunately we all came away feeling disappointed. The room just didn’t feel clean when we arrived. The carpet was dirty, there was hair left in the sink, and the shower drain was blocked with hair, which was pretty unpleasant and not what you’d expect from a hotel. On top of that, the room was far too hot, and the noise made it difficult for us to get a decent night’s sleep. To be fair, the beds were comfortable, which was one of the few positives. Heather on reception also deserves a mention—she was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. It’s a shame because those positives couldn’t make up for the cleanliness issues and the overall experience. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again unless these issues were addressed.
