About Hiding Space - Trim Street Apartments

Hiding Space - Trim Street Apartments occupies a smart city-centre address on Trim Street in Bath, giving the feel of a polished apartment hotel rather than a standard set of rooms. The building has been fitted out with a contemporary, stylish finish that suits both short breaks and longer stays in the city.

Each apartment comes with its own kitchen, making it easy to put together meals rather than eat out every night, alongside en-suite bathrooms and space that works well for families. Guests have access to 24 hour reception, laundry service, luggage storage and free WiFi, plus business services for those combining work with a stay in Bath. Parking is available for anyone arriving by car.

The location puts the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey and the city's shops and restaurants within easy reach, with pubs, bars and further eateries close by too. There's also a golf course and entertainment nearby for those looking beyond the historic centre. It's a practical base for exploring Bath, with the self-catering kitchen a genuine point of difference from typical hotel rooms.

We stayed with Hiding Space Apartments for five nights while helping our daughter move out after completing her graduation in Bath. Unfortunately, what should have been a memorable trip was marred by a disappointing experience. Our original booking was at the Trim Street Apartments on the 4th floor. The apartment was extremely hot and stuffy, with mosquitoes in the corners and noticeable dust on the stand fans. Thankfully, after we raised our concerns, we were moved to the Westgate Apartments, which were a definite improvement, and we appreciated the staff arranging the change. However, the real disappointment came on our departure day. We had a coach later in the afternoon and simply requested if our luggage could be stored for a couple of hours. Despite being guests for five days, we were told there was no luggage storage available in the building. Instead, we were instructed to take our five large suitcases and four smaller bags to the Hiding Space office, which is about a kilometre away and uphill. To make matters worse, taxis cannot access that office, so after dragging all our luggage uphill, we then had to carry everything back down the road to reach a taxi pickup point. This was incredibly inconvenient and physically exhausting, especially when the staff were fully aware of the situation. There was no effort to offer an alternative solution or show any concern for the inconvenience caused. While the replacement apartment was acceptable, the poor condition of the original accommodation combined with the complete lack of customer care at the end of our stay left us with a very negative impression. Hospitality is about more than just providing a room—it's about making guests feel looked after. Sadly, that was missing here.

Walking distance to all main points including 9 minutes to the rail station, many foodie choices very close by, very cool vibe once inside, well equipped and clean studios. The staff in the office are very nice and helpful, but it's not a hotel, so they have very reduced hours and they vary by the day so make sure you ask them in case you need assistance for anything. There is a very large community of students in the city and maybe that is why it is so loud after hours (after 10 pm) and the studios don't seal off the outside noise at all, so if you are light sleeper you will not have a full night sleep. The spaces are very small and not really adequate for more than 2 adults, we were three and it was a challenge to move around, while unpacking, getting ready, etc.

I stayed at this hotel and, at first, the room seemed to be in order. Unfortunately, however, the experience was extremely negative. During the night, I was not able to sleep even for a minute because of a very loud party on the floor above, with music and noise comparable to a nightclub. I tried several times to contact both the reception and the mobile number provided, but no one answered. In practice, I was unable to make use of the overnight stay I had paid for, because I remained awake all night due to the noise. The following morning, when I asked for an explanation, the response I received was unsatisfactory: I was not offered any refund, any concrete solution, or even proper apologies. I consider this behavior unprofessional, especially because a hotel should at least guarantee its guests the possibility to rest. For this reason, I consider the stay very disappointing and I cannot recommend it.

Penthouse apartment in the summer good weather was amazing! Views were stunning across Bath. Hot tub at night was wonderful and breakfast on the roof terrace was a delight. Location is excellent too. Only negative is the amount of stairs to climb with heavy luggage.
