What visitors say
This is a fantastic little heritage railway, been coming back for years! There are great little cafes at some stations, and engine & carriage sheds you can explore. Well worth a visit.

Visited for the spring gala, had glorious weather for it as this is all outdoors. The volunteers are hard working and very friendly people. Lots to see here and a fantastic day out for families, enthusiasts or solo visitors.

Fantastic day out on a great steam railway, ran by volunteers who were all so friendly and chatty. Cafe was a great price and tasty food. You can walk along the river too and Causey Arch is worth a look.

I'm biased about this place, having taken my boys when they were toddlers going through their 'Thomas' phase and finding it really friendly, welcoming and letting you wander just about everywhere. 20 years later I volunteer as a guard and help out. Sunday trains using 19th century carriages and steam engines going through woods and fields is, at three miles long, enough for the kids without them getting bored and a photographers' dream.
