Nine Lives Bar

Nine Lives is a cocktail bar just a short walk from London Bridge station. The main bar is tucked away in a spacious basement, creating a cosy, intimate atmosphere, although there are also a handful of outdoor tables for those who prefer to sit outside. I opted for the indoor space. I visited on a Tuesday evening shortly after opening. It was very quiet to begin with, but gradually filled up as the night went on. I started with the excellent marg/tini meal deal—a taco, fries, and either a Margarita Royale or Martini for £16—before ordering an additional taco (just £3) and finishing with a Smoke Signal (£14). Everything I tried was delicious, the cocktails were well made, and I really enjoyed the relaxed, welcoming vibe. My friend ordered the Sleep Talker, which was another excellent choice and looked just as elegant as it tasted. It's definitely a place I'd happily return to. One thing to watch out for: a service charge is already included in the bill, but when paying by card, the payment terminal prompts you to add a tip again. It's easy to overlook, so be sure to check before confirming your payment.

Cowboy took Habanero to nine lives for valentines. Amazing spot, highly recommend. We enjoyed a plate of birria tacos alongside a vibrant, electric bowl of ceviche. Served with plantain chips. We also ordered 2 cocktails: A beeswax agave and a tepache, both delicious and balanced. Nuanced with sweetness, bitterness and sourness. Lovely atmosphere with good music and cosy vibes provided with great customer service. Habanero and Cowboy will be returning for a second date - get those tacos on the grill! 😸

Had a lovely time celebrating my birthday here. Atmosphere is good - music and a vibe but was still able to talk. We were a group of nine and got a lovely area that was our own space but also part of the main room. I emailed and pre ordered food which was great, communication worked well so it all ran smoothly. We had sharing plates that were tasty but more just main meals than ‘sharing’ in my opinion. I’d come again for the food, cocktails and atmosphere, looks like a good date spot as well.

We visited as a group of 6 for dinner on a lovely summer evening. We'd booked for a table inside but because it was so lovely we asked for bench seating outside and the team were kind enough to accommodate because there was a bench available. Delicious spicy margs to start off and yummy starter options - we had all the veggie/vegan ones between us. Delish! We then had a mix of tacos to share plus a couple of tostadas (prawn and vegan?. The flavours were amazing all round. Couldn't recommend more - the food, the service, the atmosphere, and will be back. It was beautiful inside too so fantastic all year round!
