About Gorphwysfa House B & B
Holyhead Road runs through the heart of Betws-y-Coed, with the wooded slopes of Snowdonia rising around the village and the Gwydir Forest walks and Swallow Falls within easy reach. Gorphwysfa House B&B occupies a Victorian building along this road, giving guests a base among the hills and rivers that draw walkers and cyclists to the area, with free on-site parking for those arriving by car.
The four rooms keep a traditional character in keeping with the house's period, each with an en-suite bathroom, and there's free WiFi and drinks provided in the room. Mornings bring a substantial four-course breakfast, and packed lunches can be arranged for a day out on the trails. This is an adults-only property, spread over two floors with 24-hour reception for flexible arrivals.
Outside, the garden offers a quiet spot to sit, complete with a model railway that adds an unexpected touch of interest, and there's outdoor seating for fine days. Walking and cycling routes lead straight from the area, with a golf course, watersports, and pubs, restaurants and other entertainment all nearby for those wanting more than the hills.

Lovely spot 1km from village centre. Near bus stop for Sherpa bus to Snowden. Missed breakfast 1st morning as left early to climb Snowden but they provided a fantastic packed lunch instead which was excellent. Full English breakfast next morning with porridge & fruit & toast. Quiet place, clean, comfortable bed, slept great. Definitely recommend.

Lovely period house b&b made even better by the fantastic hosts John and Colin. Just a 5 min walk away from the centre of the village in an ideal location. Hosts have a wealth of knowledge about the area and give good tips on walking routes/restaurants/activities. Nice rooms, comfortable beds and to top it off you can start your day with their amazing 4 course breakfast! We were a group of 4 and all had a wonderful stay!

Excellent and beautiful place. Colin (our host) was very friendly and always happy to tell us about local attractions. He provided some great recommendations on getting to variety of places and making the best of our stay. The house was clean and very well decorated. Everything was kept in a theme of previous centuries, which we found truly enchanting. Each morning we were greeted with a delicious and filling breakfast. The house is located close to the picturesque village and some of the best hiking paths.
