Gwydyr Hotel

Gorgeous rooms, comfortable and spacious with anything you need. The overall look of the hotel is high quality and very well cared for. The food was delicious, so tasty, plenty of it and obviously from good ingredients. Staff were friendly (thanks Jude) and very helpful. So pleased we stayed here, best place we've ever stayed in Betws and we'll definitely be back.

Great location and an all round pleasant experience. Few things to note: There is limited parking even for hotel guests. The stairs are fairly steep to the upper floor rooms with additional random steps and the floors are uneven given the age of the building - those with mobility issues should take care, but I thought it added to the character. Breakfast is not included within the room fee as noted. Breakfast is available for £14(?) per person. The coffee machine didn't work and the continental offering was limited to say the least, a couple of boxes of cereals, some apples and a banana, one cheese option and one plain white or brown bread option. Hot food could be ordered at the table and was pretty good, but the portions weren't massive. I wouldn't choose to eat breakfast here. We did order a meal in the evening which was enjoyable, albeit expensive in line with similar offerings in the area. Fairly child friendly with a few board games (with missing pieces - go to the charity shop and pick some up for an easy fix). Staff were really lovely all round. Helpful even though they seemed rushed off their feet doing several people's jobs. That being said this is a great base for exploring the local area. The high street is just opposite the hotel and it looks out onto playing fields, a few yards away from the river. The price was pretty reasonable and we would stay here again.

The location was great. Room was clean and beds comfortable. We stayed in the family room. Kids loved having their own single beds instead of having to share a double. It was a very hot room with no climate control other than a fan and open windows. The windows let in all the bugs as they weren't screened. Might stay in winter but never again in summer. There is no lift, floors are uneven and there are many random stairs. Parking is very limited and very tight. We ate in the pub. Food and service were okay. Drinks were great!

Hotel was very modern and clean. Rooms and bathrooms were really spotless. Beds were comfy and the pillows were good quality. The staff were very helpful and accommodating before my booking. In the middle of Betws y Coed so perfect location.
