About Garth Dderwen

A proper Welsh breakfast is the daily fixture at Garth Dderwen, served each morning to set guests up for a day exploring Snowdonia. The guesthouse doesn't run its own bar or restaurant, but there are pubs and eateries nearby for evening meals, and drinks can be brought to your room if you'd rather stay in.

Set in a Victorian building on Vicarage Rd in Betws-y-Coed, Garth Dderwen has six rooms across two floors, each with en-suite bathroom and free WiFi, styled in a traditional manner that suits the character of the house. Outside there's a garden with seating, a bike shed for cyclists, and free on-site parking, with 24 hour reception on hand throughout your stay.

The location suits walkers and outdoor types, with routes into the surrounding hills and countryside on the doorstep, along with cycling paths, fishing, horse riding and a golf course all within reach. Swallow Falls and Fairy Glen are close by too, making this a practical base for a few days spent mostly outdoors.

Fabulous place to stay right in the centre of Betws-y-Coed but off the main road so nice and quiet. The hosts are very friendly and do everything to make sure you have a lovely stay. The rooms were comfy and the breakfast very nice. Would definitely recommend!

Had the pleasure of staying at this lovely guesthouse for 3 nights. Cosy comfortable rooms with all amenities, superb breakfast and, while within just two minutes walk from all amenities (station, shops, restaurants), still far enough from the main road so as not to be bothered by traffic noise. Chris & Julie are the perfect hosts doing everything to make you feel welcome and Chris has expert knowledge on all Betws-Y-Coed and surroundings has to offer. I truly recommend a stay here.

My Husband and I stayed here for 4 nights. The location of the property could not have been more perfect. A central location with local amenities just a stones throw away. Stunning village, wonderful restaurants and the guest house/hotel was absolutely beautiful. Chris and Julie were fantastic hosts, offering a friendly and professional service from start to finish. The breakfast was lovely and the room very homely and comfortable. If you are looking for the perfect getaway. This is the place to go. Highly recommended.
