What visitors say
A fantastic museum to visit, especially with children! The exhibits are engaging, well organised, and cover everything from Liverpool’s rich history to natural history and world cultures. There are plenty of interactive displays that keep kids entertained while adults can enjoy learning something new. The staff were friendly, the museum was clean, and best of all, entry is free. It’s a great place to spend a few hours if you’re visiting Liverpool. Highly recommended!

Great museum of Liverpool's social history, with lot's from early housing, transport, Beatles music and people's lives. Start at the 3rd floor and work your way down. Took 4 hours to digest everything, with interactive displays. Staff very helpful. There is a cafe, with good seating/tables. There is also a picnic area, which may be helpful to families. Situated on the waterfront, the museum is easily accessible from the main city centre.

Spent an enjoyable 2 and a half hours here could have comfortably spent more. Free to enter with helpful staff who explained the best route to enjoy the gallery. Spent most of my time on the second floor, that covered so much of Liverpool's history and culture. There's an engrossing display on the great war starting from Pals battalions recruitment, formed in the city. Later loved the music exhibits, especially the section on the legendary Eric's. And of course the football, it's history and many other sports such as the racing at Aintree and Golf at Birkdale. Next time I'm in Liverpool returning here and seeing more of the other floors is on the to do list. Large cafe.on the ground floor. All through the museum,. looking out off the windows are some fantastic views of the dockside.

I’m sure this place is normally lovely but it happened to be that buskers were blaring over speakers on the ground floor. They stopped after a while but they were quickly replaced by another performer. Other visitors were just covering their ears trying to escape the noise to no avail, there is no part of the museum where you can’t hear them full blast.
