About ibis Styles Birmingham Centre

Step into a room at ibis Styles Birmingham Centre and you'll find air conditioning, an en-suite bathroom and the kind of straightforward comfort that suits both a short business stop and a weekend break. Family rooms and accessible rooms are available among the 120 across seven floors, though a few visitors have noted that upkeep in some rooms can slip, so it's worth flagging anything below par to the desk.

Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and the hotel covers the practical bases well: breakfast, a bar on site, kids' meals, luggage storage, meeting rooms, a lift and an electric vehicle charge point. Chargeable on-site parking is a genuine convenience in a city centre location, where street parking is otherwise limited. Pets are welcome too.

The hotel sits centrally in Birmingham, within easy reach of the Bullring and the Library of Birmingham, with restaurants, pubs and entertainment nearby for evenings out. It's a solid, no-fuss base for exploring the city, with the essentials well covered and a location that does a lot of the work for you.

From entering it was a lovely experience, the guy behind the desk was lovely & helpful. The room was big and had air conditioning also. The bed were very comfortable and there was also two pillows to each bed (which is amazing.) The facilities were great too. There was a TV in the room and all utilities worked. Very clean and a great affordable spot in Bham.

This is a very tired hotel, low star but not just tired it is dirty. Our room was on the sixth floor, it was smelly (as if someone had pee'd on the carpet). The aircon was noisy and ineffective - it sounded like it worked but in reality it didn't reduce the temperature. We moved rooms due to the smell and the staff were excellent. The replacement room didn't smell but like the first was in need of repair. Paint peeling from the walls, skirtings not fitted to the walls, mould in the bathroom. The bed was large (super king) but it was a mattress topper on an old mattress on an older base - the bed base was quite literally falling apart and moved in the night. Breakfast is much worse than you would expect. There clearly isn't a chef so the staff can prepare bakes beans, powdered scrambled egg and low quality sausages and bacon. There were 'stations' for toast, croissant and cheese/ham but even at 6.30 am on a Sunday (opening time) the breakfast was poor. I understand poor quality ingredients but these can be cooked well and hot, instead they were poor across the board. As we left early on a Sunday, the floor of one of the two lifts was covered in broken glass. The staff on reception could and should have seen this but had other things to chat about. Quite honestly one of the worse hotels I've ever stayed at. Why not a one star - the lovely dark haired girl on reception when we arrived is a total credit to the hotel. There is NO safe, despite the online blurb telling you it takes a couple of laptops. Don't walk on the carpet without shoes.

My stay was pleasant but it was in part down to luck as I didn't have any neighbours. But if you did, you would quickly find out how deafeningly loud the doors slam shut. Service was friendly and the rooms were perfectly adequate. Good location of course being in the centre.

Everything about this hotel was great, but what I really want to highlight is the cleanliness — it was 10/10. The room was spotless, well-maintained, and very comfortable. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout the stay, and the overall atmosphere made it easy to relax. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.
