About Carrington House Hotel Bournemouth

Bournemouth's mix of seafront, town centre and neighbouring Boscombe makes it an easy base for a beach break, and Carrington House Hotel Bournemouth sits within reach of all three on Knyveton Road. With 158 rooms across four floors, it's a sizeable operation geared towards straightforward, good-value stays rather than boutique flourishes, and it welcomes pets and families alike.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and the option of family or accessible layouts, plus drinks available in room. On-site facilities include a restaurant and bar, an indoor swimming pool, a garden, and meeting rooms for those combining business with leisure. Breakfast is served on-site, and free parking is available for anyone arriving by car. It's worth noting that upkeep in some rooms can be inconsistent, and the lifts have occasionally been out of service, so guests with mobility needs may want to check ahead.

Beyond the hotel, the area offers golf, fishing and watersports nearby, along with a choice of pubs and restaurants within easy reach. Boscombe and Bournemouth town centre are both close by for further eating, entertainment and beach access, making this a practical option for exploring the coast without needing a car once you've arrived.

It's been a while but there's not a time that I'm not thinking about the place that, every year, was my home for almost a week. I would've stayed longer if I could've.. this is a guarantee!! Everyone has their opinions but.. when you're sitting outside on the comfy wrought iron and wood pews, listening to the birds, the beach while in one of the most beautiful streets, sneaking in a cigarette.. you'll always get a hi and chat from everyone and especially the gorgeous people who are always at the front desk ready to help anytime.. how could you ask for anything more AND knowing you have your bed, bathroom and TV waiting for you too.. I WILL FOREVER BE THE CARRINGTON S BIGGEST CHEERLEADER AND BOURNEMOUTH (surrounding areas too. My favourite shops, favourite places , favourite people who always remember you and catch up!! Oh! I miss you guys.. I said my goodbye last time.. when illnesses call, you have to go BUT.. I have a big memory wall (almost..) and every year I'd keep a brochure, receipt, a bus pass and other bits.. that's how much I love it! I'm dreaming about the day that I can get back and remember, if you need anything or have requirements.. just ask and they'll always do their best. Most times I'd be so excited about going I'd forget to ask but it's totally worth it!! There's only 2 places I'd stay in while I'm in my own little version of heaven and CARRINGTON HOTEL is 1!! Thank you for everything to the guys and girls who have soooo much to do at one time.. PLEASE PLEASE don't forget to appreciate them, have a bit of patience and say Thanks!! Legendary.. Honestly, when they said not to fly (after a huge girl drama and cry, I said to myself 'the place I find has to be as close as I can get to remind me of my home.. " it took almost a year of searching for the right place.. THIS IS IT FOR ME! I'll recommend The Carrington house Hotel all day long and keep dreaming about the trip from London to Bournemouth like I am right now, again!! Such love and Blessings to you all! ★★★★★

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. There isn’t even a fridge in the rooms, and this was never mentioned on the website. I also can’t believe that in 2026 this hotel has no air conditioning anywhere in the building. I brought my family here for a few days and, on a hot day, we were only given one fan for the room. No fridge in any guest room either. The carpets in the stairwells leading to the rooms were ripped and worn out. There is a swimming pool on site, but there were no staff or lifeguards supervising it. While I understand it’s not meant to be a luxury hotel, it feels very badly run and run down. The staff were rude, especially Maria. The arcade machines don’t work properly, Netflix on the TV doesn’t work, and even the beers were flat. The only positive thing about this hotel was the live singing entertainment at night. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Avoid this at all cost's. I wouldnt mind but we paid decent money for to stay for a few nights. The hotel is ridiviously understaffed aswel.

Nice stay as came with lovely people but probably won't be coming back. Price per room very convenient and swimming pool included. Definitely place needs upgrading, refreshing, painting less carpets would say. Windows needs cleaning for sure. In room you have kettle, coffee, tea but no spoon 🙃. Steps into the swimming pool not very stable and needs be more secured ( reported to the staff). 15 min walk to the beach . Basically good for one night sleep. Not for family holiday.

Book here if this is your last resource. One upside is the staff are pleasant. Breakfast was fine, somewhat limited but fine. The general hotel could do with a refurbishment, torn and miss matched carpets, leak stains on the ceiling. Generally not maintained, high traffic areas needed attending to and were not. We attended on a hot day, there was a fan in the room (which I was thankful for) as not all patrons had this luxury. Our room was situated above the boiler room; unable to open the curtains or windows to avoid further warming of the room, was suffocating. There was no means of ventilation whilst within the room. Upon check in other patrons had complained of this and were advised that "on booking.com it states we do not have AC" nothing more done to address the situation. The bathroom was awful, black mould on the ceiling, random hairs in the bath and sink. Not to mention the urine stains on the toilet seat and stains around the bath. The layer of dust on the light above sink and the vent was shocking. When bathroom clean was requested, the urine stain was removed (thank you) but that was about it. Parking is limited but available free of charge. Its a shame about the upkeep of the place as the location is a 15 min walk to the beach/ pier via a lovely garden/ park. I had visited with my 5yo, and its fair to say I will not be returning.
