About ibis Styles Bournemouth

Air conditioning that actually works is the detail guests at ibis Styles Bournemouth tend to mention first, a small thing that makes a real difference on a warm day. The hotel sits on Gervis Road, around a 13 minute walk from the beach and well placed for exploring Bournemouth town centre.

There are 74 rooms spread over three floors, including family and accessible options, all with en-suite bathrooms and the promised air conditioning. Some rooms show their age and could do with better upkeep, so it is worth bearing in mind alongside the otherwise positive picture. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, which goes some way to smoothing over the rough edges.

Food is served in the on-site restaurant and there's a bar, snack bar and room service for anything in between, though breakfast is on the simpler side rather than an elaborate spread. Guests can also use the indoor swimming pool, garden and outdoor seating area, with meeting rooms and business facilities available too. On-site parking is chargeable but convenient, and the hotel welcomes pets. Nearby, there's walking, cycling, golf, fishing, horse riding and watersports to fill the day, plus pubs and restaurants within easy reach for the evening.

We have just got back from staying for 4 days at the ibis styles. First impressions when you walk into reception are good. Nice decor and clean. Our room was in the basement, but had a window, the room was quite big. We had a large double bed, a single bed,two sofas and a footstool which we used as a bedside table. The shower room was clean and the shower hot and powerful. There were a few bits of wallpaper lifting, but in general decor wasn't too bad. The air con was great, especially in this heatwave. Breakfast.. there was a good choice of cooked food, and continental, which was topped up when running low. Tea coffee and fruit juice, though the fruit juice was watered down. Only downside to our stay was, you could never find anyone on reception in the evening, hopefully you don't have an emergency. All in all a good stay

Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing due to several issues that could have been avoided. We received a £100 parking charge after leaving our car briefly to unload luggage. I had asked reception beforehand if it was OK to leave the car there while taking luggage to the room and was told it would be fine. However, we were later told we had exceeded the 10-minute limit, which was never explained to us. With the lift out of order and our room on the third floor, the process naturally took longer. The hotel advised us to deal with the parking company, despite us relying on the information given by their staff. The room had a strong artificial air freshener smell, poor air conditioning that barely cooled the room and temperature can’t be adjusted, and limited storage space for a Superior room. The hairdryer intake was also blocked with dust, suggesting poor maintenance. The lift was out of order, forcing us to climb three floors Other issues included noisy doors that slammed shut, a disappointing breakfast with poor-quality coffee, and a duplicate payment issue that required extra time contacting both Booking.com and the hotel. Overall, the experience was terrible. The most disappointing part was the lack of support and ownership from hotel management in resolving issues caused by the hotel's own communication and processes. Being left to deal with the parking charge despite following the receptionist's advice, along with the billing issue, has significantly affected our confidence in the brand. We would not choose to stay here or at other hotels within the same group (Accor) again.

Ibis Styles hotels vary by location in a variety of ways - decor, breakfast offer, housekeeping and ambience. This one is average on most counts. The hotel needs decorating and rooms upgrading. The rooms are functional without any facet of luxury or glamour. The bathrooms are similarly so. Staff are pleasant but there are insufficient to handle important aspects such as breakfast service - replenishment and cleaning. Housekeeping is hit and miss - in our case, miss! No bins emptied, no towel or toilet roll replacement despite the indicator being appropriately placed on the room door handle. Breakfast is a good offer with both cooked and continental available. For a reasonably large hotel, there is only ONE hot drink machine - which needs regular attention (but there is insufficient staff!). Located near East Cliff with access to the beach promenade. Car parking is a steep £15 per day. There is a bar but there are numerous pubs in easy walking distance to make it superfluous. I have used Ibis Styles hotels before and this is not one of the best but, at favourable value prices, worth considering for a brief stay but there is LOTS of competition!

The size of the room was as expected and checkin staff were also good, at least some of them. It is a close to city center and beach. Breakfast is not great, but for the price it is ok. Disliked · The room was not cleaned when we arrived. We checked-in and in the shower there was someone's personal soap, in the room floor, there was a lot of drops of snacks and orange peels. We weren't sure if the towels were even clean. There is was WhatApp number in the hotel but when we tried to call repeatedly, no one replied. So, finally, I have to go to reception and talk about the issue. They were apologetic for the situation, and tried to offer another room, there was a new person, who was kind. But the other room was too small compared to what we booked. The body soap and shampoos were also empty when we arrived. We have to go to reception and tell them to re-fill them. We requested for the room to be cleaned but we were told, it will be cleaned the next day, which is not professional. The check-in was too slow and they didn't apologize. We were standing there for about 15 minutes and the staff were chatting to each other.
