Up on a hillside just outside the Bannau Brycheiniog/Brecon Beacons National Park and 10 minutes' drive from Brecon, this is a special spot indeed, with stunning views all around by day and gloriously sparkling stargazing by night (thanks to its position within a designated Dark Sky Reserve). The glamping accommodation (for adults only) is equally starry, with an ensuite bathroom, comfy bed and heating inside, plus a picnic table and barbecue outside for meals with a view. Little luxuries abound – slippers, dressing gowns, towels – all for what's surely the highlight: your own private hot tub where you can sip bubbles while bubbling away in these gorgeous rural surroundings.

If you can drag yourself away, Hay Bluff, the Black Mountains and Llangorse Lake offer superb hiking nearby (all the sweeter knowing you can soak afterwards). Brecon has a good collection of places to eat, and the renowned Felin Fach Griffin pub is about a mile away.

My partner and I stayed at Argoed Barns in one of the Domes for 3 nights in March 2026 and we could not recommend it highly enough. Amanda and Barney were the perfect hosts and made us feel really welcome. The views were amazing and sunrises spectacular. The Dome itself was super cosy (despite the chilly weather!) and has been decorated beautifully, the attention to detail was second to none. Our dog, Sky, especially liked lying in front our the fire. Will definitely be visiting again!

This little shepherd's hut looking south towards the Brecon beacons is a piece of heaven. Although it was overcast, we still enjoyed the private hot tub at night, looking at the outline of the mountains and distant town lights on the horizon. Owners very kind and clearly take good care of the guests, we are very glad they chose to share their magnificent site. There is everything you could need and everything is so warm, clean and comfortable. Very local restaurant, the Felin Fach Griffin, worth it for a good meal, we would've tried an adventurous walk there if we'd had more time. Will be back.

We had the best time in the geodome with a little dog. Everything is so well thought out and I personally loved the recycling area! I go glamping every year and it's the first time I see a very well thought through recycling area (flexible plastics, food, landfill etc.) I wish more places did that. Of course the views are stunning, the accommodation is ideal ad we were nice and toasty with the log burner on. Thank you!

Absolutely wonderful place. The perfect getaway with stunning views of the black mountains and brecon beacons. Amanda was the loveliest host and ensured everything about our stay was perfect. Can't recommend highly enough!
