The tavern is under new ownership. Unfortunately, I had made reservations back in Jan 2026, with payment, and the old owner stated they had notified cancellation with return payment-NO! HOWEVER, have to say the new owner trying his best with correcting and provided all information so that I could receive refund on previous booking. Was able to put us up for the night. One can tell improvements have been made bring entertainment and also nightly specials- but not in Tuesday when we were there so can't state about food. The staff at the bar was very friendly. I would stop in for a evening. If you stay, know that things are clean however somethings need much up dating which I understand that will be underway. NOTE steps up to all rooms.

The markets tavern hotel Brecon has an amazing atmosphere and the owners are very welcoming and the staff are polite, the entertainment is amazing and there’s something going on everyday of the week and brings in a good crowd, plenty of choices of drinks, would highly recommend anyone to go and visit and support local businesses
