The Mill House
Somerset
The Mill House is a restored detached cottage on the grounds of Higher Aisholt Farm, in the village of Aisholt, surrounded by fields and hills. You get the whole place to yourselves, with three bedrooms sleeping up to six: a super king, a king, and a zip-and-link pair of singles. There is one bathroom with a bath and shower. Downstairs, the living room has a woodburner and Freeview TV with Amazon Prime; the kitchen/dining room opens to the garden and contains an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and everything else you need to cook. A utility room with washing machine completes the ground floor. One dog can stay free of charge.
Aisholt is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Nearby paths lead into the Quantock Hills, popular with walkers and mountain bikers; the Somerset Wildlife Trust's Aisholt Wood, an ancient oak woodland, sits within the Quantock nature reserves. The village retains a quiet character—deer often graze on the common—and the Church of All Saints is worth a visit. Within an hour's drive lie Kilve beach (8 miles, good for rock pools and fossil hunting), Watchet Harbour, Tropiquaria Zoo and Dunster Castle. The nearest shop is 2 miles away; a pub and restaurant 2½ miles. Essentials including electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are provided. No smoking.
