About Hotel Pelirocco

Hotel Pelirocco opened on Regency Square in the late 1990s and has a decent claim to being Brighton's original boutique hotel. It occupies two combined Regency townhouses a few doors from the seafront, and its nineteen bedrooms are each themed around a musician, subculture or piece of pop-culture history - rooms devoted to soul music, rock and roll, burlesque and British seaside kitsch among them.

The themes are done thoroughly rather than as a coat of paint, with commissioned murals, period furniture, record players and, in some rooms, mirrored ceilings or a heart-shaped bath. It is a hotel that knows exactly what it is, and guests either love it or should book somewhere calmer. Practicalities are sound: en-suite bathrooms, good beds and free wifi throughout, and booking direct through the hotel's own site includes breakfast.

The Playstation Bar downstairs serves cocktails to residents and their guests and gives the place a sociable feel in the evening, more like a small members' club than a hotel lounge. Staff are long-serving and know the city well, which is useful for anyone trying to get into a busy restaurant at short notice.

The position at 10 Regency Square is excellent: the beach is a minute away, the Brighton Centre and the conference venues are next door, The Lanes and North Laine are within ten minutes, and the underground car park beneath the square solves the usual Brighton parking problem. It suits couples, groups of friends and anyone in town for a gig or a stag or hen weekend, and is not aimed at families or at very light sleepers on a Saturday night.

Our room was great. We were in the Tropical Paradise room and it was really fun to have the hammock. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great and they were able to accommodate my dietary requirements. There are tea and coffee making facilities but there isn't a fridge in the room, which would have come in handy. It was quite warm when we visited and the Dyson fan in the room was greatly appreciated! The location was good, and though it was a little noisy at times it was quiet overnight. We hope to come back soon!

Second time to this eclectic ever-inspiring true art piece of an hotel. Loved every second of our stay. The staff is very knowledgeable about the area, extremely friendly and always helpful. The breakfast is perfect. It is a 6 stars DIY chef d'oeuvre. Long lives the Pelirocco!

We came to stay at Pelirocco as we had our debut Brighton show and being able to have such a beautiful room filled with such light and character was a blessing. We stayed in the Pin up room and it was such a delightful slice of glamour. The bed was so comfy and the room was spotless and HUGE! Every staff member was so welcoming and nice. We will absolutely be back! The breakfast was delicious! I think we just found our new Brighton home from home!

Just spent a weekend here for my daughter and son-in-law’s wedding. It was the most amazing location. The hotel is such fun with its themed rooms so carefully and beautifully individually styled. The staff are the loveliest people, they could not do enough for us. This included hosting a party with 5 piece band plus DJ which we had booked, helping serve the buffet dinner we had ordered, mixing wicked cocktails, serving gorgeous breakfasts and tending to our every need. Can’t wait to come back. This is not just a hotel this is an experience.
