About INNit Saltwater

Madeira Place sits just back from the Brighton seafront, a quiet residential street with the sea and its walking paths only a short stroll away. INNit Saltwater occupies one of the terraced townhouses here, giving guests an adults-only base close to the water without being on top of the crowds along the front.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, free WiFi and drinks in the room, and some have sea views over the rooftops towards the water. Reception runs around the clock, so arrival times are flexible. The property doesn't run its own restaurant, but pubs, bars and eateries are all within easy reach nearby, along with entertainment options for evenings out.

Beyond the doorstep there's plenty to fill a stay: walking areas along the coast, fishing and golf nearby for those who want to get outdoors, and Brighton's wider attractions a short distance away. It's a straightforward, well-placed spot for couples wanting sea air and easy access to the city.

A very poky, hot and stuffy room made this a stay an endurance test. Pluses were the location, comfortable bed and roomy shower. Minuses were the size of the bedroom and bathroom, generally scruffy appearance of the exterior, lobby and stairs, heat in the bedroom and even more so in the bathroom, and lack of functioning extractor fan in the bathroom. As a couple with a pair of suitcases, we had very little space to put our clothes and nowhere for the suitcases to go, so we just had to keep stepping over them. We definitely felt we had overpaid for such basic accommodation.

I stayed here during a work trip and needed somewhere practical and well-located. Overall, a mixed experience with clear positives and a few issues. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of the seafront, the pier, and central spots. If you’re driving, park on the outskirts or take the train as overnight parking nearby is expensive and hard to find. Staff were helpful and polite. The room had a good selection of beverages, although the kettle could do with descaling. The electric locks were tricky at first. The keypad didn’t always activate reliably, though it became easier with use. More concerning was the loose, wobbly door lock, which didn’t inspire confidence in security. The building sits at a slight angle, which made the stairs feel awkward, and even small things like the toilet seat not staying up were noticeable. The mattress is due for replacement, with a clear dip that made sleeping uncomfortable. Walls are very thin, so noise carries easily. My first night was disrupted by a group partying, though the second night was much quieter. The location seems better suited to late nights than early ones. The lobby was very warm, and I had to keep the window open to stay comfortable. Overall, the stay was pleasant, but due to the security concerns, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

The room was smaller than expected. We had to keep the bathroom door shut as they seem to have an issue with the sewer/drainage system. The seal on the shower needs fixing as the bathroom gets flooded when using it. Also the shower temperature is temperamental. I had to reprogram the tv in and the WiFi signal is shit. No ironing board, just a steam iron. Positive. Close to the sea and shops. Quite area, especially at night at times

Good central location but the room was tired and unclean. Brown stains on towels and bedding, thick dust in places, dirty sticky glasses and to top it off, it smelt like a public toilet. Had a terrible night sleep as the room is sweltering hot, even with the window open. And due to its central location there was lots of noise from nearby pubs. Tv remote and bedside lamps also not working. At £160 a night, I wasn’t expecting much but there’s no excuse for the poor levels of cleanliness.
