About Mercure Brighton Seafront Hotel

For couples on a weekend away, families wanting the seafront on their doorstep, or anyone attending an event in Brighton, Mercure Brighton Seafront Hotel offers a straightforward base with Victorian character right on Kings Road. It sits close to the Pier and the Royal Pavilion, with the pub, restaurant and entertainment scene of the seafront within easy reach on foot.

The hotel has 116 rooms across seven floors, including family rooms, accessible rooms and en-suite bathrooms throughout, with a lift for those who'd rather not use the stairs. Rooms are comfortable rather than plush, and some guests have found them on the smaller side and a little dated, so this suits travellers after a well-placed stay rather than a design hotel. There's a restaurant, bar and room service on-site, along with breakfast, packed lunches and kids' meals, and the food here is consistently a highlight, particularly afternoon tea. Staff are noted for being friendly and helpful throughout a stay.

Beyond the seafront setting, guests can arrange business meetings on-site or use it as a wedding venue, while golf, watersports and walking areas are all nearby for those wanting to explore further afield. On-site parking is available for a charge, and pets are welcome, making this a practical choice for a wide range of Brighton visits.

Location great and is right across from the beach with a lovely view from their restaurant and bar but expense for what you get as a hotel room. The building's exterior is beautiful but the inside is old and tired. The room we stayed in had been refurbished to some degree but the plumbing is and bathroom set up is not great and lots of wasted space in the room given the building lay out. We were only here for one night (a Friday) and in desperate need for sleep after some long days touring. One thing to highlight was shower floor was VERY slippery - there was a rubber mat available but tucked away in the storage rack in the hallway. Luckily no one fell but there was a risk. So look out for it! The view from our room was the interior of the buildings courtyard (read bank of skip bins). I am.sure if you were willing to pay 300£ plus they probably have nicer positioned rooms. We were not. The hotel restaurant and bar Coastal was really great - the food, the drink, the service and vibes (with a live dj spinning tunes in the outside dining area). Great selection of nibbles but of course being in the UK we all went for the Beer Battered Haddock, hand cut chips and mushy peas. Divine! They even gave me extra mushy peas which was greatly appreciated. I'd recommend to stay at this hotel but to remember would say that to consider its an old building and some of the more modern amenities are just not there and when I stay away from home and fork out my money - I want it to be better than my house.

Great hotel conveniently located song the seafront near the i360, sandwiched in between Brighton & Hove. The staff were very friendly and provided great service in all areas. The reception and bar area is nicely decorated and had a modern feel to it. We had a privilege room which was of good size, had a lovely big comfortable bed and a good sized bathroom too. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of hot and cold items. My only critique is some of the public spaces are in need of a refurb, the corridors and toilets need modernising, the purple and lilac is very dated. Overall I had a nice experience and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or stay there again

Organised a two-day training course at the Mercure Brighton Seafront Hotel in Jul 2026. The Meeting & Sales Executive, Kaytie, was outstanding. The event was organised without issues, and communication leading up to the two days was timely and detailed. The team were flexible too, when we needed to make last minute changes to delegate numbers and dietary needs. And the event space is stunning, with picturesque views thanks to the hotel's coastal location. Highly recommend.
