The Clink in Brixton

Visited The Clink today for the second time and once again, I was very impressed. The booking process was smooth (obviously with a few more questions than a normal restaurant booking for obvious reasons) and check in and security was efficient. We were a party of 9 and when we got through to the restaurant, we had name plates with our food orders which made things much easier. We were served by Dennis who was polite and attentive throughout. He was supported by Tony and Sean who were also very helpful. It was nice to be able to chat to them about their experience and see how it has given them some structure and sense of purpose. I had the smoked salmon starter which was divine, followed by the roast beef. Everything was cooked and presented well and tasted delicious. I then finished with the chocolate brownie which was lovely. I am so behind this initiative. It gives guests a new and interesting dining experience, but more importantly, it helps the trainees prepare for life on the outside. Thank you to everyone involved in this, from the booking staff, through to the cleaners. It’s honestly a fantastic place and I feel privileged to have been twice.

Sunday lunch here was a real treat! The process to get through the doors is a bit long winded but in fairness you are going into a working prison. The restaurant itself has a really nice internal setting, quite surreal looking at iron bars and barbed wire through the windows tho. The food was excellent, beautifully presented and in a very professional manner by the prisoner serving team. Our waiter was Dennis who was very charming and attentive. We also met Sean who is quite a character! This worthwhile charity deserves lots of praise and support they are doing a great job in giving people a second chance. Will definitely go back

Fabulous lunch today at Brixton Clink. The food was of top quality The guys that served us were so polite and attentive. Aziz was very helpful and sociable. Shaun too was such a nice guy so polite and friendly . Give them both 5 out 5 for their service. Would highly recommend a visit

We went for Sunday lunch and the venue, ambience and food were divine. We liked the thought of contributing to a charity by dining, rather than adding to an organisation's profits. The highlight, however, was talking to the lovely prisoners working there who seemed to be trying so hard to be rehabilitated after their sentences. Verdie was a very attentive and polite waiter - thank you. We also enjoyed speaking with Sean who was particularly open about his life experiences and how he has been working on being a better person so he can contribute to society; he was very interesting and inspiring and we wish him all the best. Obviously, they don't serve booze but a minor point, please could customers have the same varied selection of soft drinks as the prison staff have available to them (as shown in the fridge next to drinks available for the restaurant guests)? Thanks
