About Thatched Cottage
Just four rooms sit behind the thatched roof of this small hotel on Brookley Road in Brockenhurst, keeping things intimate rather than corporate. Thatched Cottage works as a base for the New Forest without trying to be anything grander than a comfortable, well-placed place to sleep and eat.
Guests get a restaurant and bar on site, breakfast included, and a snack bar for anything lighter, with outdoor seating and a garden for sitting out between excursions. Free WiFi, drinks available in the room, 24 hour reception and luggage storage cover the practical side, and free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward. Pets are welcome, and kids' meals are available for families. The building spans two floors, in keeping with its cottage character.
Brockenhurst itself puts the New Forest National Park on the doorstep, with walking and cycling routes, horse riding and fishing all nearby, plus golf for those who want it. Pubs and restaurants in the village add further options beyond the hotel's own kitchen, and watersports are within reach for a change of pace. It suits those after a straightforward, well-located stay rather than extensive facilities.
