About Bromptons Farm

On the edge of Stanton village, Bromptons Farm offers a two-acre meadow where you can pitch freely—no rigid bays here—giving kids and dogs plenty of room to roam. With hedgerow and meadow pitches (some electric, some with water hook-up), plus campfires allowed, it's the sort of relaxed, unfussy spot that feels properly rural. The toilet and shower block, charging points and recycling facilities keep things practical, though with such low light pollution the real star here is the night sky.

Historic Bury St Edmunds is twenty minutes by car, while Thetford Forest trails and nature reserves like Knettishall Heath (wild ponies) and East Wretham Heath (wading birds, roe deer) lie within easy reach. The coast—Aldeburgh's pebbles or Lowestoft's sand—is about an hour away. Stanton has convenience stores and a chippy if you'd rather skip the barbecue one evening, and Wyken Vineyards' restaurant or Bardwell's pubs are five minutes for something more substantial. A peaceful, wildlife-rich base for exploring Suffolk's quieter corners.

Brompton's Farm is a lovely, developing campsite that is worth a visit. Firstly, the owners are lovely and will give you a nice warm welcome to the site. You can pitch up wherever you like, across the two acre field but beware that there is little shade across the field, so a gazebo or pitching near a tree is reccomended. We stayed during the Late May Bank Holiday weekend, and the owners set up a bar, BBQ and bouncy castle for entertainment. This was included in the very cheap price of £15 per night. The site was busy during this period, but we still had plenty of space as a group of 8 to play outdoor games. Whilst clean, the facilities are small, with only two unisex toilets and one shower across the whole site. I am busy period like the bank holiday, queues often formed for both the toilets and the shower. Additionally, the water pressure in the sink is very low, so washing hands takes some tome. The single washing up basin did not have any hot water, either. However, the campsite is still developing so this is to be expected. In conclusion, Brompton's Farm is a developing campsite that offers good value for money with very nice owners. The facilities are small but clean. I would love to see the campsite develop further, with more toilets and showers being built, potentially on the other end of the site.

We stayed here for a van life festival. It was fantastic. The site really needs a few more toilets and showers. It's a short walk to local shops. Overall a great place to stay
