About Cledan Valley
Hidden away in what the owners aptly call 'the wilds of Mid Wales', Cledan Valley is a peaceful glamping retreat where proper beds, cooking facilities and pretty furnishings meet rural charm. Each unit comes with a barbecue and firepit (firewood provided), while a communal lodge offers covered cooking space and plenty of games for children. The shared facilities are thoughtfully done – flushing and compost toilets, powerful spring-fed showers, a disabled-access wetroom, all cleaned daily – though some guests note the site can feel a touch dated in places.
The real draw is the setting: spectacular green views, resident llamas, ducks and chickens, and a genuine sense of escape. Yet it's not truly remote – the A470 sits just a mile away, and Carno (35 minutes' walk) has your nearest pub and shop. Kids love the freedom to build dens and hunt for bugs, while adults simply soak up the scenery. Caersws and Llanbrynmair, both 15 minutes' drive, offer more amenities.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! My partner and I just left and we're already missing it. Karen was so kind, friendly, welcoming, and hospitable. She provided us with ice packs for the cooler every evening, brought fresh eggs, and a sun umbrella which was so lovely! The atmosphere is so tranquil and I felt so much peace being surrounded by the birds and the trees. It was like a hug from nature and if we could live there forever, we would! ❤️

What can I say amazing peacefull place, We stayed here for 2 nights and 2 days, it was the most peaceful 2 nights and days we have spent in any campsite, the place is like magical place in nature away from all the day to day hustle and bustle, my kids all enjoyed it to, they didn't want to come back home. You have your own sheltered cooking area with a gas stove supplied with utensils, pots and pans, You have your own barbecue area, Your own tent pitch with very large bell tents. The facilities were all clean and well kept, They have hot showers on site. Karen who runs the site was amazing running around the site caring for all your needs, I can go on and on lol. I would 💯 percent recommend, And I will be back soon.

Very calm and nice place, with a lot of space between tents, with everything you need to spend a few days with family and friends. We enjoyed it a lot, good hiking from the site. The owners are very attentive and offer everything you need

I visited Cledan Valley with a group of 13 people consisting of mums, kids aged 2-15 (including one wheelchair user and a Grandma! We stayed between Red Kite and Tawny Owl for two nights. We all had an excellent time and my only complaint really is that two days really isn't enough. This site is ideal for those looking to spend quality time with friends and family without distraction from the outside world. For the first time in a long time the kids ran wild...I felt comfortable not having my eyes on them ALL the time! Our group especially enjoyed making use of the communal social space and campfire...it really made our trip. For some people making the walk to the shower block/water source from the more distant tents may be a slog - but actually I really enjoyed getting the steps in. Red kite was very accessible for those who may wish to avoid walking. The family that hosted us were really wonderful and attentive - Helped make things like visiting the Llamas accessible, great for a general chat and arranged for milk/eggs. We really hope to visit again next summer - this is an ideal location for families with children.
