About Rectory Farm
Cambridge's Madingley Road, on the edge of the city, is where Rectory Farm makes its home, offering easy access into town via the nearby park and ride while keeping a quieter, more countryside feel than a central hotel. The grounds are a genuine highlight, with gardens to wander and an outdoor pool for warmer days, plus outdoor seating for those who just want to sit outside with a drink.
The 24 rooms are spacious and well kept, each with an en-suite bathroom, and breakfast and free WiFi are included as standard. Drinks can be brought to your room, and the hotel also operates as a wedding venue for those planning an event. Staff are generally friendly and helpful, though at busier times they can be harder to track down.
Free on-site parking makes driving in straightforward, and there's a golf course, pubs, bars, restaurants and other eateries all within reach nearby, alongside entertainment options for evenings out. It's a practical base for exploring Cambridge without giving up green space and a bit of peace and quiet.

What guests say
Great stay. Great location just outside Cambridge. Short Uber ride in (£10ish) nice and quiet, beautiful grounds. Rooms are slightly outdated but clean, spacious and just what you need, beds were comfy. Staff were kind and helpful, the pool was a nice added bonus too as we stayed here in July. Would come back here again.

We arrived on a last minute booking and had a wonderful stay. Easy to get too, plenty of parking, received a friendly welcome at reception. We had two rooms behind a private access door, one a good size, the other a bit smaller but was fine for a family to share. The grounds were amazing, peaceful, well kept. 20 min walk through fields to a pub, 2min drive to Park and Ride for a less than 10min bus journey into centre. Amazing, deep, outdoor swimming pool. They weren't doing food during our stay, but we knew this ahead of booking so were happy to soak up the cafes in Cambridge. The room was made up each day which was unexpected, but great.

Good location to launch daily excursions into the area north of London The "Rectory Farm" was not a farm; but, it was close to Newton's birthplace and many other local sights. It was located on the west edge of Cambridge. It was a good location to launch daily excursions into the area north of London. There was a very nice table to set up the laptop on and work. We liked the room; but, not the breakfast options. The "Rectory Farm" was not a farm-stay... it was a rather fancy Motel behind a fancy automatic gate. The breakfast was 16 pounds additional and it was indicated there was a 5 pound cost per night to park in their own parking lot. We had been at self-catering stays before we stayed here; so, we had a cooler with milk, and had cereal, fruit, bread and such with us, we just ate in our room. They took a 50 pound hold against my credit card in the event we left a mess; so, care was taken when we ate to keep the room clean. Better access to the room with the car would be easier if they left a wider gap between the cut-off barrels. I was told to just move one aside to get my car in... they stacked the half barrel full of bricks the next day which made it much harder to move to get my car in to load the luggage when we left.

Bed bugs (!) I had stayed here for work a couple of times before and was never super impressed by the cleanliness nor the beds (very uncomfortable) but it was convenient. However, on my most recent visit I was horrified to wake up to bed bugs under my pillow and around the room. I took photos and instead of apologising and offering a refund the property suggested I made it up (there was blood all over the sheets from having been feasted on). Book at your own peril!
