About Sunnyside Farm Camping

Tucked in the hamlet of Pett Bottom, a ten-minute drive from Canterbury, Sunnyside Farm Camping occupies a working mixed farm where 100 sheep, a handful of cattle and abundant birdsong set the rural tone. The tiny site – just a handful of grass pitches – draws walkers tackling the 50-mile Coast to Cathedral route, which passes the gate, and riders who book horses at the village equestrian centre to explore the chalk downs. Come in late April and May for woodland bluebells; year-round, the characterful pub-restaurant next door makes an easy post-hike dinner stop.

Clean, basic washrooms sit in a wooden farm building, and facilities stay simple – non-electric pitches, dogs welcome, barbecues allowed. Twenty-five minutes from Dover ferries and 35 from the Eurotunnel, it's a handy overnight pause before a Channel crossing, though some guests note the set-up can feel a touch tired in places.

Beautiful country campsite, with extra helpful staff. The site is two meadows in an area of outstanding natural beauty - so the surroundings are amazing. Toilets are composting, which I'm generally not a huge fan of but here they were fine, clean usable and not smelly. Showers work, warm shower in the morning was lovely. Onsite fresh made pizza was good (wild garlic pizza left me sweating garlic fumes for a couple of days!) Staff were extra helpful, especially when I had a lat minute change to my booking. I should mention the dawn chorus - not so much a chorus as a symphony! Lots of amazing nature around the campsite and we all really loved it. Overall a great site. Not luxurious, but a beautiful site.

Lovely campsite, quiet unless the band is playing at the pub opposite. There is only 1 shower and 1 toilet

Had a dreadful night here. I know the host can’t control the weather but the toilet was filthy, a car kept coming in and going all night waking us up constantly. Not very family friendly and anyone could drive in. Its not very safe. We were up and left for 6am as didn’t want to stay. We love camping and do it often but will not be returning here.
